We are seeking to hire a Marketing & Business Development Manager to join our team based in Manchester where you will support the Head of BD and Marketing (UK&I) and the wider UK&I locations marketing team in the delivery of the business's growth plan for the Manchester and Liverpool offices.

This role comes with a huge degree of self-determination. Working closely with the Office Managing Partners, and supported by the Head of BD & Marketing, you will help formulate a Business Development, Marketing and Client Engagement plan for DWF in the North West, collaborating with the wider MBD team as required.

Visibility with the senior leadership team is important to build solid working relationships and You will be expected to spend at least 50% of your time in the office.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, own, and proactively drive and deliver the BD & Marketing plan for your locations, fully aligning it to the UK&I key deliverables and firmwide growth strategy.
  • Attaining buy-in and ongoing engagement from Location stakeholders.
  • Be highly visible in your locations to build strong relationships with key stakeholders and across the board with the various communities in each Location, being the 'go to' contact for the MBD team 'on the ground'.
  • Support Location leadership teams in identifying and maximising client engagement opportunities.
  • Proactively guide and support the DWF Link (young professionals) network in your Locations, ensuring ongoing activity against objectives and engagement of key clients.
  • Work with the Comms team to ensure an effective PR & Comms strategy is in place for your Locations to ensure positive messaging to maximise brand awareness in the market, with responsibility to develop and drive social media strategy to ensure visibility in the market.
  • Proactive management and delivery of events/digital events strategy to ensure quality output that reflects the DWF brand, meets client needs and generates opportunities for the business.
  • This includes all aspects of event management from developing marketing lists, generating event invitations and associated collateral, monitoring ROI and promotion of events externally (via email, social media channels and the DWF website) and internally to post-event reporting on ROI.
  • Some before and after-hours work required to support event activities, along with all associated admin including booking tickets/tables/venues and liaising with professional staff to create invitations (using Vuture and the CRM system).
  • Co-ordination of website updates as required for your locations.

What will help you succeed in this role?

Essential

  • 4 years general business development and/or marketing experience in a B2B environment.
  • Articulate and confident with strong business acumen.
  • Able to work to own initiative and multi-task, Flexibility to ensure delivery against timescales.
  • Ability to adapt to changing requirements, prioritising accordingly, with the ability to spilt time (physically and virtually) between offices on a regular basis.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects at any time with previous experience of organising events (Virtual and in-person).
  • Knowledge of the local market and business communities.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office and formatting skills especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Desirable

  • Experience of working in professional services is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of the legal sector, and the market in Manchester and Liverpool in particular.
  • Experience of using Microsoft Teams and GoToWebinar.
  • Degree educated or significant track-record in this arena.
