Description

We are looking for a super organised, creative, and passionate Marketing & Events Manager to deliver the marketing strategy for our Plus X Innovation hub in Brighton. Responsible for creating initiatives to attract and retain progressive start-ups and SME's and key functions of larger corporate companies to drive high levels of occupancy at the Plus X Innovation hub in Brighton. This critical and multifaceted role will lead on brand awareness, customer engagement and customer acquisition at a local level. Responsible for initiating, developing, and building relationships with the local community and developing mutually beneficial partnerships that drive positive social impact within the surrounding areas.

Location: Brighton - Hybrid

There is an expectation for the person in this role to work 4 days per week in our Innovation Hub in Brighton.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accountable for the development and delivery of the marketing customer acquisition and retention plan, with the primary goal of attracting and retaining progressive companies with an interest in innovation, creativity, and business growth
  • Working with the central marketing team, agencies, and support freelancers to deliver targeted marketing campaigns across the full marketing channel mix, as needed
  • Accountable for marketing collateral and marketing activity for recruitment of location-based programme of events, working closely with the programme, location, and workshop team as well as local partners to drive high attendance and engagement.
  • Effective reporting on marketing activity ROI delivering to the business and location objectives ROI of all key activations.
  • Producing commercial ROI reports on product lead flows for the hub, campaign ROI and capturing channel performance via the CRM.
  • Manage and track budget in line with the Head of Marketing and the building P&L.
  • Responsible for working collaborating with the content manager to generate eye catching and engaging marketing assets and content to support the location and its activities.
  • Accountable for curation, execution, and effectiveness of the location's monthly email newsletters.
  • Working in partnership with the location team to increase the awareness and enquiries for the specialist facilities such as media suites, meeting rooms and event spaces.
  • Developing local community relationships in Brighton, working on partnerships and opportunities for marketing and event collaborations to align with brand social impact goals.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • A customer-first mentality.
  • A good understanding of how to leverage brand and tactical marketing campaigns in the delivery of lead generation and positive ROI.
  • Good balance of both creative and commercial understanding and drive.
  • Solid understanding of all paid, owned and earned channels and how to leverage them collectively to best effect.
  • The ability to lead and collaborate within a team to achieve location based KPI's.
  • Confidence to present and bring new ideas that drive the business forward.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication to all stakeholder groups.
  • Well versed in marketing to a range of business audiences including B2B, SMEs, startups and corporates.
  • Experience in working with a CRM - HubSpot ideally or similar.
  • Experience in running events and event co-ordination.

  • Experience in the workspace, flex office space, property, or hospitality sector.
  • Experience of delivering launch plans for a services brand.
  • A network of local connections within the Brighton and Sussex innovation and business community.
  • Additional 'placemaking' marketing experience would be advantageous.
