Manufacturing QHSE &Technical Compliance Manager

Trafford Park, Manchester (Travel to our Atworth site when required)
up to £50,000pa DOE
Monday to Friday, 44 hours per week.

Opportunity

We are seeking a Manufacturing QHSE & Technical Compliance Manager to lead and strengthen the quality and technical compliance function within our vehicle bodybuilding operation.

This is a hands-on, production-facing role at the heart of our manufacturing business. You will take ownership of our quality management process, drive continuous improvement across the shop floor, and ensure our vehicle builds/conversions consistently meet regulatory, customer and engineering standards.

Working closely with production, engineering, health and safety and our leadership teams, you will embed quality into every stage of the build process, from fabrication and welding through to final vehicle approval.

This role offers real influence. You will shape manufacturing standards, improve build consistency, strengthen audit readiness and ensure technical compliance supports operational performance.

Day to day you will:

  • Oversee QHSE policies, procedures, and compliance across all operations.
  • Conduct RCA's and be a leader for positive change.
  • Ensure vehicle bodybuilding and modifications meet Type Approval (IVA, VCA, DVSA) and industry regulations.
  • Develop and implement quality management systems (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001) to drive continuous improvement.
  • Maintain and have control of the QMS.
  • Monitor and advise on COSHH, PUWER and LOLER requirements and adherence.
  • Monitor NCR's and customer feedback.
  • Deliver QHSE training programmes to staff, ensuring a strong safety culture.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies, clients, and suppliers to maintain compliance and certifications.

This role will be a great fit for you if you have:

Proven track record in a QHSE and/or compliance role within vehicle bodybuilding, automotive, or engineering industries.

Awareness and understanding of Type Approval, IVA, VCA, and industry standards, development training can be provided.

Ability to lead a safety-first culture and implement compliance improvements, inspiring those around you.

Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to risk management.

Utilsing great communication skills to confidently liaise with regulatory bodies, suppliers, and internal teams.
