Manufacturing manager

£50,000 - £55,000 DOE per annum plus car/car allowance

5 out of 6 days between Sunday - Friday, 40 hours shifts 9am - 5.30pm & 3pm - 11.30pm

A unique and exciting opportunity to join the UKs largest foodservice provider as the Operations Manager for our fresh meat production unit based in Wigan.

A critical role within the operation, this is a fantastic opportunity to use your experience and knowledge of food production to be instrumental in creating and driving forward this operation, for what is a key area of focus for the business.

You'll be working closely with key stakeholders across the organisation, ensuring processes and operational procedures meet our high-quality standards and enabling us to cater to our customers' every need - both now and in the future.

Upholding the highest levels of health and safety and food safety standards, and with overall responsibility for the operation, you will train, motivate, and lead your team including a Master Butcher and a small team of production operatives, to ensure key deliverables are achieved in relation quality, service levels and cost.

Your input will be invaluable to key projects as we look to develop and expand our fresh meat offering, and you'll facilitate customer visits to the operation providing an opportunity to demonstrate our quality production processes within customer supply chains.

To join us in the role of Operations Manager, you will have experience of leading a food production operation and be looking for your next step. You will be commercially aware and demonstrate strong analytical and decision making skills. You'll have a good understanding and knowledge of food safety procedures and HCAPP principles as well as stock management, control, and forecasting. A great communicator, you will be people focused, leading from the front with the skills to get the best out of your team.
