About HSO

HSO are a leading member of the Microsoft Dynamics Inner Circle, founded in 1987, and specialize in sectors such as Retail, Manufacturing, Professional Services, Financial Services and Local Government. HSO is the place to work for those in the Microsoft Dynamics channel. People join and stay because we care; about adding value to our customers, about delivering what we say we will, striving to improve ourselves, being inclusive and having fun.

The core values that enable us to work so well together also mean our customers want to work with us. We choose to be different to other Microsoft Partners. Caring about our people, customers and quality of work differentiates us. We always support our people and customers to achieve shared, agreed goals.

Role Purpose

The Industry Market Unit Director for Manufacturing is a senior leadership role responsible for defining, growing, and executing HSO's manufacturing go-to-market strategy. The role brings manufacturing industry expertise together with a modern understanding of Microsoft's cloud, data, and AI-driven business applications to drive measurable business outcomes for clients.

This role leads with industry and business process rather than technology alone. Manufacturing organisations are increasingly focused on resilience, supply-chain visibility, sustainability, and data-driven decision-making. The IMU Director ensures HSO's manufacturing proposition aligns to these priorities while leveraging the full Microsoft ecosystem.

Scope and Accountability

  • Full P&L and revenue responsibility for the Manufacturing IMU
  • Ownership of key manufacturing accounts and long-term account development strategies
  • Executive-level engagement with manufacturing clients and partners
  • Leadership of business consultants, solution architects, and virtual teams aligned to Manufacturing

Key Responsibilities

  • Industry and market leadership, including defining and evolving HSO's Manufacturing industry proposition and acting as HSO's senior Manufacturing representative with customers, Microsoft, and industry bodies
  • Go-to-market and sales enablement through driving manufacturing-specific initiatives, campaigns, account strategies, and supporting bid and sales activity
  • Solution and capability development across Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain Management, Customer Engagement, Power Platform, Azure data, analytics, AI, and Copilot
  • Client and delivery oversight, including maintaining long-term executive relationships and ensuring customer satisfaction, retention, and value realisation
  • Leadership and collaboration across IMU Directors, Solution Line Directors, and Shared Services

Key Requirements

  • Significant experience within the Manufacturing sector
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing trends including supply-chain resilience, smart manufacturing, and sustainability
  • Strong understanding of enterprise technology landscapes, including cloud, data, and AI
  • Ability to engage and influence at executive (C-level)
  • Strong commercial, leadership, and P&L management capability

Our Approach to Hiring

  • We set the bar high and won't extend an offer until we're confident we've found the right person for the role. That's why some of our vacancies may remain open for several months or be reposted - we prioritise long-term fit and potential over speed.
  • Research shows that women and under-represented groups are less likely to apply unless they meet every requirement. At HSO, talent and potential matter more than ticking every box. If this role excites you and you believe you could grow into it, we strongly encourage you to apply.
  • HSO is an equal opportunities employer. We consider all qualified applicants and are committed to providing reasonable adjustments for individuals with disabilities. If you need support at any stage of the recruitment process, please let us know how we can help.
