Job Description:

The Managing Partner, SEO is a highly experience SEO expert who will manage end-to-end delivery of our overall SEO proposition under dentsu UK brands and locations. You will understand how the large and adjacent specialist teams (SEO, Technical SEO, Digital PR, Editorial, Local SEO, etc) can work together to deliver world class SEO results for clients. You will be an inspiring people leader and will develop an ambitious and curios SEO team who constantly push limits on what great SEO looks like. You will strive to strengthen our name in the industry ensuring we're able to attract the very best talent. You are an expert workflow manager, who can direct the ongoing structural and organisational requirement of the channel with a logical approach. You have a commercial mind, which balances the drive for excellence with the need for efficiency. A specific background managing global SEO strategy and large SEO agency teams would be beneficial.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Build and own the UK SEO narrative and ensure every member across SEO and specialist teams understand the role they play in delivering it.
  • Directly oversee ~90 SEOs across dentsu UK
  • Work with and inspire your senior SEO account teams to deliver market-leading work, providing excellent value for clients
  • Lead on all SEO new business
  • Define our approach to automation within the SEO space
  • Establishing the ever-evolving organisational structures of the SEO channel to ensure you strike the balance between driving excellence and delivering efficiency.
  • Ensures best practice, consistency and innovation in all SEO activities; ensures knowledge-sharing across teams
  • Liaises with other channel leaders to standardise work output and engages in cross-channel strategic planning
  • Ensures the annual budget is met, working alongside the Senior Management Team
  • Ensures profitability of team through effective resource planning
  • Drive recruitment and team development initiatives to keep the very best talent in your department
  • Uphold strong service levels across all clients, including delivery of agreed hours, response times, and project timelines.

It is also of vital importance that this person helps drive several people centred activities, including:

  • Identifying and embedding a set of unifying behaviours built towards performance and 'Best in Class' as part of our DNA.
  • Establishing and championing the Total Search team as a 'Force for Good' via initiatives around equality, diversity, inclusion, work-life balance, mental health, and CSR.
  • Establishing, championing, and ensuring the longevity of an ongoing programme of marketing, events, initiatives, and social activities to help establish and define a rich agency/team culture.

IMMEDIATE PRIORITIES INCLUDE

  • Set structure across SEO department, clearly defining vision, roles, and responsibilities
  • Audit our current capabilities and approach in channel. Formulate product narrative with support from Total search Leadership team
  • Work with our Innovation team to assess and define our technology roadmap.
  • Review client team delivery and structures and formulate approach that is more effective and efficient for clients
  • Hire all open roles across SEO with a clearly defined recruitment policy focused around SEO passion and curiosity
  • Working closely with wider Paid Search and Digital Experience departments to define integration narrative.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • Has extensive experience in leading large SEO teams including product development and P&L.
  • Has led the charge in creating, pitching and managing SEO new business for large brands.
  • Engaging and inspiring leader with proven track record of developing SEO talent from graduate to senior level.
