Deloitte is looking for a Software Asset Lifecycle Manager to join its talented IT SAM team to coordinate, innovate and continually improve the software asset services consumed by our businesses.

We have a crucial Software Asset Management opportunity with the chance to work with the latest technology, including automation and AI, encouraging innovation while developing best practices to drive software investment value and efficiency for our UK and Switzerland businesses. This role is far more than compliance, it is about having an in-depth level of insight of the business software needs and balancing it with an ever-increasing complex licence modelling.

The role provides the chance to work with global leading software and vendors across all sector and collaboratively with our software licence risk management and SAM services capability.

You will need to both deliver to agreed targets and drive a continuous improvement culture in the:

  • Leading and influencing the strategic development and daily operation of the software asset management processes and systems
  • Chairing of the Software Governance Board
  • Custodian of the software inventory/catalogue
  • Oversight of the E2E software lifecycle (onboarding to removals)
  • Leveraging the opportunity that our global span and relationships with Tier 1 vendors brings
  • Collaboration with counterparts within Europe and, where appropriate, globally

Shaping our approach to the full software lifecycle and being able to influence senior stakeholders is key as is having a strong proclivity for resolving complex problems and to be an expert in improving performance measurement and reporting processes.

Essentials

  • Experience in a similar role at a large organisation (c30,000 employees)
  • Proven experience with Software Asset Management software and tools (such as SNOW and ServiceNow, CMDB or equivalent, including data normalization to improve and maintain the quality of SAM-related data)
  • Define the data quality standards, practices for critical SAM data, and an approach to revise them to support evolving SAM strategic objectives and analysis
  • Experience in developing a SAM software full lifecycle strategy and roadmap
  • Experience of working with global stakeholders
  • Knowledge of software asset management principles, policies, and procedures with experience in streamlining processes and tools for both on-premise and SaaS/cloud environments

Desirables

  • Strong understanding of Software Asset Management, Release and Deployment processes
  • Working knowledge of ITIL v3 and ISO 19770
  • Experience working with desktop, VDI, server and SaaS platforms or equivalent
  • Excellent project management, planning, and organisational abilities
  • Develop dashboards and reporting to support strategic decision making, cost optimisation and risk management
