Business Overview
Our Clients & Strategy team covers Business Development, Investor Relations, External Relations, Sustainable Investment and Brand, Marketing & Communications, including Internal Communications.
It is responsible for all communications to investor prospects, existing investors and their asset consultants, as well as a broad range of other stakeholders, including governments and media.

The Role
The Manager, Social Media, will play a critical role in shaping and growing the firm's online presence across social media platforms to enhance its reputation, build brand awareness and support IFM's business goals. This role is responsible for strategic planning, governance, and the creation and management of both organic and paid social media strategies and campaigns, working with business teams and content contributors. The ideal candidate will be adept at navigating the nuances of asset management while driving engagement with institutional audiences, key influencers, employees and prospective talent.
Social Media Strategy
- Develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy, editorial framework and KPIs, aligned with the firm's broader marketing and business objectives partnering with marketing, external relations, investment, sales and people & culture teams.
- Expand the social media visual identity guidelines to build a consistent and high-quality visual presence to gain cut through
- Stay informed about industry trends, competitors, and regulatory updates to keep the firm's social media efforts compliant, innovative, and competitive.
Content Creation & Campaign Management
- Develop and manage the social media content calendar and schedule to ensure a regular and appropriate flow of relevant, timely, and compliant posts.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external contributors to leverage content and ensure it reflects the firm's expertise and brand values.
- Develop social tone of voice and content for our senior leadership to be more visible on social media
- Create high-quality, engaging and informative social first content to support the firm employer brand
- Develop and launch paid social campaigns as part of an overall integrated approach
Audience Engagement
- Identify and engage with key influencers, partners, and stakeholders in the asset management and financial services sectors to enhance visibility and credibility.
Analytics and Reporting
- Monitor and analyse the performance of social media campaigns, using tools including Google Analytics, Hootsuite and Meltwater to define and track KPIs (engagement, follower growth, reach, etc.).
- Provide regular reports to senior management, offering insights on performance and recommending strategies for optimisation.
- Use data to refine content and posting strategies, ensuring continuous improvement and alignment with business objectives.
Governance & Risk management
- Ensure all social media content adheres to industry regulations (e.g., FINRA, FCA) and internal compliance guidelines.
- Work closely with the compliance and external relations team to approve content and manage any risks related to the firm's social media activities.
- Stay up-to-date with social media regulations in financial services to ensure the firm is compliant with industry standards.
- Provide training and support to internal stakeholders on best practices for personal and professional use of social media.
- Monitor online sentiment to address any reputational risks in real-time.
Your Background and Experience
- 7+ years of experience in in social media management, preferably within financial services or asset management.
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Digital Marketing or a related field.
- Proven track record of managing and growing corporate social media channels
- Experience of defining governance and social media policy working with risk and compliance teams and other relevant stakeholders
- Excellent communication skills able to effectively collaborate and influence cross-functional teams.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge and experience of B2B, regulated organisations.
- Deep experience in campaign and content planning working with media, performance marketing, and digital marketing teams.
- Deep understanding of the financial services industry, particularly asset management, investment products, and client segments.
- Strong copywriting and content creation skills, with the ability to translate complex financial concepts into engaging and accessible content.
- Proficient in social media management and analytics tools (e.g., LinkedIn, X, Instagram, Hootsuite, Amplify, Google Analytics and Meltwater).
- Excellent understanding of social media best practices, algorithms, and platform-specific nuances, especially LinkedIn
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities, with strong organisational and time management skills.
