An overview of the role:

The journey to net zero and increasing consumer demand for a greener, more reliable, secured, and cost-effective energy system, is increasing the pace of change within the Energy & Utilities sector. Industry participants recognise that accelerating the path to a modern energy system requires a clear strategy supported by a fit-for-purpose operating model and capabilities, a culture of innovation, and effective use of data and digital solutions, to play a key role in the industry's transition to net zero.

With continued growth across the Energy & Utilities Sector, we are seeing a significant increase in demand for our teams who are already working with major UK Utilities organisations. As such, we are recruiting Management Consultants into our Energy and Utilities team to support clients across the UK and globally across various grades.

Why this role?

We advise and shape areas such as corporate and regulatory strategy, operating model design and change delivery, capability building through people, technology, information and processes. We work on digitalisation and data strategies built on scaled digital platforms, APIs and Cloud. We support organisations to define the business case & benefits modelling that shape these strategic initiatives. With a strategy defined, and a high-level operating model defined, the transformation to execute the strategy varies by the size and scale of the client.

In addition, you'll have the following experience:
• shape change programmes, focused on specific functions or spanning across the entire organisation
• help organisations to understand the capability and impact of digital transformation and technology
• define digital / IT enabled business transformation programmes to implement the strategic initiatives
• oversee workstreams, projects and programmes, leading the team to create impactful deliverables, deliver tangible results and business benefits for clients
• apply agile ways of working and adhere to best principles of delivery
• present at executive and board level meetings to get buy in for recommendations
• lead and/or provide SME input for the development of the sector strategy, client propositions, best practice assets or thought leadership

Why you?

We are looking for candidates with a proven consulting track record of delivering value in the Energy & Utilities Sector or a related sector, who enjoy working collaboratively with clients and have a passion for developing people.

You'll bring experience in transforming the way Energy & Utilities organisations operate through enabling technology, growing people capability, process change, organisation re-design or in response to regulatory change. You are confident working in a technology environment - but may not necessarily have an IT background or be an expert in IT. Ideally, you will also bring proven skills and experience at leading and delivering management consultancy projects. using your skills in strategy execution, you will own and deliver the transformation for our clients, often leveraging Agile at Scale and digital delivery models.

Your role will include the following:
• Sector knowledge - an understanding of the current trends and issues in the Energy & Utilities sector and broader ecosystem, and their impact on organisations and society including the anticipated shift in RIIO-2 capability requirements of the UK utilities industry.
• Excellent presentation and articulation skills - outstanding written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex problems, quantitative analysis and solutions in a way that can be quickly understood.
• Business relationship building - demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships including at senior and executive level
• Learning and coaching - demonstrated desire to continue developing and to develop those around you, both for clients and Capgemini Invent colleagues
