We are seeking a Security Manager to join our team within Deloitte Business Security (DBS), who are part of the Deloitte Quality, Risk and Security (QRS) community.

Quality, Risk and Security (QRS) is an overarching identity for all the professionals who manage quality and risk for Deloitte. It comprises: Deloitte Business Security (DBS), National Quality and Risk Management (NQRM), Quality & Risk Operations (QR Ops), and Service Line Quality and Risk Management teams (including Switzerland) and is led by a dedicated partner who sits on the firm's Executive.

The role holder will be a key manager, with oversight for a small number of sub account security leads while also providing assurance for Deloitte practitioners working across government and public service clients .

Key tasks will include:

  • Managing the implementation of compliance with the firm's security policy framework and observance of principles outlined in government regulations and standards i.e. HMG SPF, Functional standards GovS007.
  • Developing, implementing, and maintaining a complete set of security instructions, protocols, processes, and standards aligned with client policy, continually monitoring, and amending security controls where necessary.
  • Leading on compliance reviews advising leadership on security controls, their interpretation and implementation.
  • Identifying, communicating, and managing current and emerging security threats with relevant stakeholders.
  • Providing line management responsibility for sub-account security leads.
  • Ensuring that any breach of security is reported immediately and acting as escalation point for sub-account security leads.
  • Conducting investigations and implementing corrective actions for security incidents, where appropriate ensuring the outcome is recorded, and full reports are drafted.
  • Maintaining security accreditations and audits, both internal and external, and taking the lead on specific accreditations to ensure compliance with mandated policies and standards.
  • Advising and supporting key stakeholders on security matters, including international travel, pre-employment screening, clearances, ensuring compliance with all relevant standards.
  • Maintaining and enhancing the delivery of security assurance for engagements across Government clients.
  • Establishing strong relationships with business and functional teams, while also building on, and preserving the firm's reputation with clients, regarding security requirements.
  • Coordinating and leading the appropriate security education and awareness training, particularly for new staff, ensuring understanding of the scale, nature of the threats and protective security controls required.

Connect to your skills and professional experience

Essential:

  • Sound knowledge of current UK Government and Defence security procedures, knowledge of Security Policy Framework, GovS007 and ISO 27001 and the Official Secrets Act (OSA).
  • Able to work to both an organisation and client procedures and standards.
  • Proactive with strong attention to detail, with the ability to use a forensic approach to security related matters.
  • Effective staff management as a manager or above in a security team.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal with a good eye for detail.
  • Proactive with the ability to identify process improvement and implement any changes.
  • Positive and professional attitude with the ability to work well independently.
  • Strong IT skills - Microsoft 365 products, applications, and services.
  • Currently hold or able to attain and maintain Developed Vetting (DV) clearance.

Desirable:

  • Experience in government or other regulated industry, specifically security management/assurance.
  • IPSA (Industry Personnel Security Assurance) Understanding.
  • Understanding of security vetting and the threats to an organisation's security and integrity.
  • Formal security qualification e.g. L4 Security management, CISM

National Quality and Risk Management

We are subject to a number of audit regulations, one of which requires that certain colleagues abide by specific personal independence constraints (e.g., in relation to any financial interests and employment relationships). This can mean that you and your "Immediate Family Members" are not permitted to hold certain financial interests (shares, funds, bonds etc.) with audit clients of the firm, and also prohibitions on certain employment relationships (e.g., you are not permitted to hold a secondary employment role with SEC audit clients of the firm whilst being employed by the firm).
