The Team
A&M's UK R&D Tax Services team brings together a mix of tax specialists, finance professionals and technical ly focused subject matter experts. The team has a strong track record of supporting businesses in accessing UK innovation incentives and works closely with colleagues across the UK and internationally.
We suppor t both large and small organisations with th eir R&D claims . Our work spans a wide variety of clients, from complex corporate structures to high-growth SMEs, advising across both of the UK' s R&D tax regimes.
As the R&D landscape continues to evolve-with increased HMRC scrutiny, legislative changes and a more complex tax environment-practical, experience-led advice is critical. Our team is well equipped to guide businesses through these challenges and help them unlock the full benefit of available incentives.
How you will contribute
As a Manager within our R&D practice , you will:
- Prepare and review detailed claim analyses, technical narratives and HMRC submission documentation, ensuring claims are robust, well-evidenced and compliant.
- Lead client interactions to identify , assess and document qualifying R&D activities, including analysing technical and financial data to quantify eligible expenditure.
- Analyse and structure complex datasets, ensuring accurate identification and allocation of qualifying costs.
- Manage engagement risk and support clients through HMRC enquiries, ensuring defensible positions are maintained .
- Communicate complex R&D concepts clearly to clients, including the impact on their broader tax position.
- Lead and mentor junior team members, delegating effectively while ensuring deadlines, budgets and quality standards are met.
- Oversee multiple engagements and contribute to business development and client relationship growth.
Qualifications:
- Prior Experience working on Research and Development Tax Credit engagements
- Advanced Degree
- Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills
- Ability to simultaneously work on several projects and effectively manage deadlines
