This role is a Quality & Risk Management (QRM) role focused on supporting and upskilling the 3,000+ staff who support the firm within our Enabling Functions.

Our clients and regulators care how we operate and the professionalism and integrity of our Enabling Functions staff matters just as much as client-facing individuals - each person carries the firm's reputation in their hands.

A small team has recently been established to support staff in Enabling Functions to do the right thing, to understand and embrace their professional responsibilities, and operate effectively and safely. This role will lead on driving individual and function-level conduct and compliance and oversee and manage a support function for day to day queries on technical risk matters such as data security or ethical concerns. The individual will support on reporting to the senior leadership of the Enabling Functions on risk management themes and trends, and training a network of risk champions on the ground.

A key part of the role is building engagement and outreach to staff across the Enabling Functions to increase awareness and engagement.

With significant transformation and continuous improvement there are opportunities to input into small and major change projects to ensure risk is considered and quality and integrity are at the heart of new solutions.

Essential experience

  • You are an independent and organised worker, with experience managing a wide range of initiatives, workstreams and projects, both short and long term, in parallel.
  • You have experience working with a wide and senior stakeholder base, and in resolving complex issues by applying experience, judgement and values. You are comfortable enquiring and applying scepticism when appropriate, challenging the status quo and courageous in calling out the right way forward.
  • You have an interest in working in conduct and risk management, and experience making risk-based operational decisions.
  • You have a working understanding of risk and control frameworks.
  • You have experience working in a professional services/consultancy environment, in either a client facing or internal role.
  • You have experience managing and developing junior staff and leading work in a team context.
  • You have advanced PowerPoint presentation skills and an ability to convey conceptual ideas visually or verbally and to summarise articulately for presentation to senior stakeholders.

Desirable experience

  • Experience in a professional services quality and risk management team environment
  • Experience in professional compliance environment

National Quality and Risk Management

We ensure we manage our business with integrity. This includes developing and managing assurance and business risk frameworks, anti-money laundering, addressing any potential conflicts of interest amongst clients and maintaining our independence from them, ensuring we're compliant and managing the security of our people.

Personal independence

Regulation and controls are standard practice in our industry and Deloitte is no exception. These controls provide important legal protection for both you and the firm. We are subject to a number of audit regulations, one of which requires that certain colleagues abide by specific personal independence constraints (e.g., in relation to any financial interests and employment relationships). This can mean that you and your "Immediate Family Members" are not permitted to hold certain financial interests (shares, funds, bonds etc.) with audit clients of the firm, and also prohibitions on certain employment relationships (e.g., you are not permitted to hold a secondary employment role with SEC audit clients of the firm whilst being employed by the firm).
