Job Description

Summary:
The new People Policy Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing our company People policies. This role ensures that all our People policies are in compliance with legal standards, support business goals, and reflect the company's values and culture. The People Policy Manager will collaborate closely with our Regional and Departmental People Partners, and other key stakeholders, to create policies that promote a fair, inclusive, and productive workplace. This role is ideal for someone with strong People/HR or ER policy experience, but also wants to learn and develop their knowledge across the full Employee Life Cycle and work as part of a new and innovative People Products Team.

Responsibilities:

  • Global Policy Development and Implementation:
    - Develop and update our global People policies, procedures, and guidelines in alignment with legal requirements and company objectives.
    - Work closely with our global Comms & Change teams to ensure all People policies are communicated effectively to employees and managers.
    - Lead the implementation of new policies and oversee the deployment of any policy changes, working closely with the regional and departmental People leads.
  • Compliance and Risk Management:
    - Alongside our regional People teams, monitor changes in employment laws and regulations globally to ensure company policies remain compliant.
    - Conduct regular audits / gap analysis to ensure adherence to HR policies and procedures.
    - Design and implement a strong policy governance process, working with partners and stakeholders to ensure our People content remains current and up-to-date on our intranet pages.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    - Work closely with our regional and departmental People business partners, legal counsel, and department heads to ensure policies meet the needs of the organization.
    - Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on policy interpretation and application where required.
    - Develop and deliver training programs to educate staff on People policies and compliance issues.
  • Measuring Success:
    - Evaluate the effectiveness of HR policies and recommend improvements.
    - Collect and analyze data to identify trends and areas for policy enhancement.
    - Prepare reports and presentations on policy compliance and performance for People Leadership Team and other Senior leaders.
  • Employee Relations:
    - Promote a positive and inclusive work environment through fair and consistent policy application.
    - Advocate for employee needs and experience and concerns in policy development.

Qualifications

  • Experience in People / Human Resources, with a focus on policy development and compliance, and change management experience beneficial.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong writing and editing skills.
  • Good knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and People / HR best practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Experience with HRIS (Workday or other) and other HR and project management tools (e.g. JIRA) beneficial, but not essential.
