Manager, People & Culture (UK & Europe)
Fixed Term Contract (12months)

This role reports to the People & Culture Director UK & Europe and is responsible for HR generalist activities aligned to the region.
This role is focused on building excellent relationships with stakeholders by providing pragmatic and clear advice in line with best practice to aid the organisation in achieving it's goals. The role is also responsible for leading on key SMCR activities for the UK, working collaboratively with Risk & Compliance.
This is a 'hands on' role, covering both strategic and operational aspects of P&C within the region.

SECTION 2. DECISION MAKING AUTHORITY
- Ultimate decision making authority for IFM Investors as per Delegations of Authority and Executive
Accountability Framework.

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

- Relevant years experience in HR generalist roles, ideally within a Financial Services environment.
- Previous experience of being responsible for the people aspects of SMCR in another organisation is preferable.
- Experience operating within a commercial and/or relationship driven environment with the ability to build relationships and business partnerships with others - being a
credible 'trusted advisor'.
- Experience in providing consultation and influencing business leaders; including recommending talent, recruitment and people related strategies to drive commercial
outcomes.
- Ability to exercise good judgement and provide advice without close supervision

QUALIFICATIONS - Degree and / or CIPD qualified is preferable but not required.

BUSINESS KNOWLEDGE
- Good market knowledge of financial services industry and/or working in a regulated
environment.
- Organizational awareness, ability to work effectively in a global matrixed environment.
- Understanding of operating commercial processes.

TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE
- Highly proactive and able to juggle multiple priorities.
- Understanding of cyclical people processes is preferable.
- Ability to manage employee cases independently (including but not limited to disciplinary, grievances, redundancy) and exercise good judgement.
- Strong skills in MS Office Suite, specifically Excel and PowerPoint

Employee Relations
- Understand the IFM Investors' Business Plan.
- Provide a solution focused, pragmatic advisory service to people leaders and employees on a range of employee relations and people issues.
- Act as the first point of contact for people leaders and employees should employee issues arise, taking a lead role where possible.
- Keep abreast of employment law in region in order to effectively manage employee relations.
- Ensure a good working knowledge and understanding of regional laws and organisational policies to ensure compliance and best practice.
- Engage in projects to enhance employee relations initiatives.
- Work collaboratively with the global Employee Relations team to manage and monitor employee issues.
- Proactive and suggest areas for improvement.

SMCR and other regulatory regimes:

- Lead the day to day compliance with SMCR regulations as related to people processes.
- Continually review existing processes and look for ways to automate and improve.
- Work with key stakeholders including Risk & Compliance to ensure ongoing compliance with SMCR regulations.
- Effectively run BAU P&C processes, tools and templates to ensure ongoing SMCR compliance.
- Lead the processes for Senior Manager and Certified Person changes for new and existing employees.
- Keep abreast of other regulatory regimes and requirements in Europe ensuring ongoing compliance and updates to policy.

P&C Generalist Advice & Support

-Deliver exceptional client service with support, advice and guidance on a range of people issues and processes.
- Be the first point of contact for staff in the region with P&C queries regarding policies and processes.
- Provide broad generalist support to the People & Culture Director in region.
- Lead and support on annual people cyclical activities.
- Generate employee documentation where required.
- Support the recruitment and onboarding of new joiners as
required.
- Support the probationary review process.
- Lead on and support with Oracle processes and system improvements.
- Lead and support on matters relating to the Regional Inclusion Forum.
- Support with learning and development solutions as required in partnership with OD&L Manager.
- Lead and support on ad-hoc P&C projects.
- Continually look for opportunities to automate and simplify processes to free up capacity.
