Are you a skilled and experienced early years leader, with a proven track record in securing high quality outcomes for young children?

Would you like the unique opportunity to play a crucial role in building on the existing strong practice in our council-maintained early years settings?

If so, this could be the job for you!

The Role

As a result of growth in the early Years and childcare sector and service development within the Early Years and Childcare Team, an opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified and experienced childcare professional to offer strategic leadership across our council-maintained early years childcare settings. In this newly created role, the successful candidate will work closely with skilled and dedicated childcare teams across eight settings, and two highly experienced team leaders, who are each the Responsible Individual for four settings.

As well as leading the development of policies and practices that shape inclusive provision of the highest-quality, the successful candidate will lead on self-evaluation, and strategic improvement work, as well as maintaining an oversight of all aspects of safeguarding and health and safety across settings.

This is a unique opportunity for a creative, positive and pro-active individual, with proven leadership and management experience in the childcare sector, to take the next step in their career.

Why you?

You are a passionate and dedicated professional with a passion for early years and childcare.

You are experienced in leading childcare settings with a demonstrable track record of operating good or excellent provision.

You are a clear and adaptable communicator, able to convey situations and actions in both written and spoken forms.

You are ambitious for children, colleagues and yourself.

You are skilled at developing the practice of others, using your extensive experience and knowledge to enhance best practice.

If you believe as strongly as we do in the importance of the Early Years and you are excited by this challenge, we want to hear from you. A discussion with our Early Years and Childcare Manager, Stephanie Thomas, is warmly encouraged and easily arranged. Please contact stephanie.thomas@bridgend.gov.uk to ask any questions you have or to organise an appointment for an informal conversation.

Please note, the role will be largely field based, with the remainder of the time spent working from home and from our office base at Corneli Integrated Children's Centre. Applicants should be aware that, as this post will require travel throughout Bridgend, a valid driving licence and the use of a car are a requirement of appointment.

If you feel you have the necessary skills, experience and passion to thrive in what promises to be a varied, exciting and fast-paced role, we look forward to receiving your application.
