Connect to your skills and professional experience

As a Manager within our Operations Transformation Life Sciences team, many of our transformation programs have a technology and digital lens. We are looking for a candidate who is an experienced Business / Solution Architect within the Life Sciences industry, and has experience partnering across business and technical functions in one or more of the following areas:

Life science industry experience:

  • Experience working within one, or multiple sectors including Biopharma, Med-tech and Consumer Health industry. Prior Consulting experience with Life Sciences are also desirable
  • Within your relevant sector, bring experience and knowledge of the technology landscape across one or multiple parts of the value chain, with a particular focus across R&D, Commercial, Supply Chain
  • Familiar with the full technology stack supporting these functional areas (e.g. clinical trial management systems, electronic data capture systems, laboratory information management systems, pharmacovigilance systems, regulatory systems, customer relationship management systems etc.)

Business / Operational experience:

  • Collaboration: Experience working in a business partnering capacity with IT, or as an IT Business Partner - with the ability to architect technology / digital enabled process transformations, working with our Operational Transformation (process, business model design), AI, Data and Technology Delivery teams.
  • Solution Design: Undertaking strategic reviews of entire organisations or functions to design the technology layer of operating models that are fit for purpose and successfully realise their strategic intention.
  • Requirements analysis: Experience working closely with stakeholders to understand their business needs, goals, and requirements. Based on this understanding, work closely with the Business Analysts to translate these requirements into technical specifications.
  • Technology trends and evaluation: Up to date knowledge of the latest market trends, technologies and tools within the Life Science industry. Experience conducting market research and evaluating various technology vendors and alliances to make informed recommendations.
  • Risk management: Strong appreciation of business continuity, data and cyber risks, working with relevant experts to develop mitigating strategies as part of the solution architecture.
  • Communication: Ability to communicate and visualise complex technical landscapes to a business audience. Organising insights into a logical flow to enable impactful storytelling when presenting recommendations.
  • Leadership: Proven experience managing successful teams and engagements on time and to budget. Building and maintaining relationship with senior stakeholders, ability to credibly influence decisions.
  • Business case: Experience developing technology business cases, working closely with Technology and Business Leaders to reduce Total Cost of Ownership of systems.

Professional and Academic qualifications:

  • Proven experience within Life Sciences industry; Consulting experience within Life Science industry may be considered
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferably within Life Sciences, and or Data / Technology
  • Understanding of GxP requirements for technology solutions
  • Relevant certifications in IT architecture or life sciences compliance (e.g., TOGAF, Cloud Certified Solutions Architect)

Additional desirable experience include:

  • Advanced degree within the Technology field, Master of Business Administration (MBA)
  • Contributing to industry thought leadership
  • Line management responsibility
  • Experience in database management, cloud computing, data analytics, AI (including GenAI)

Personal independence

Regulation and controls are standard practice in our industry and Deloitte is no exception. These controls provide important legal protection for both you and the firm. We are subject to a number of audit regulations, one of which requires that certain colleagues abide by specific personal independence constraints (e.g., in relation to any financial interests and employment relationships). This can mean that you and your "Immediate Family Members" are not permitted to hold certain financial interests (shares, funds, bonds etc.) with audit clients of the firm, and also prohibitions on certain employment relationships (e.g., you are not permitted to hold a secondary employment role with SEC audit clients of the firm whilst being employed by the firm). Our hybrid working policy

You'll be based in United Kingdom with hybrid working. Our hybrid model enables our people to collaborate, connect and innovate in both a virtual and physical capacity. As well as remote working, you'll attend your local office, virtual collaboration spaces and client sites, depending on the requirements of the role.
