We have specialist tax and finance skill sets spanning the areas of Service Management, Direct Tax Compliance & Reporting, Indirect Tax, Statutory Reporting, Finance BPO, Funds Tax Management, and Payroll. We focus on supporting our clients in managing their compliance and reporting requirements, centrally and locally, and delivering on their transformation agendas.

The opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Manager to join our busy and thriving team. Our team is a true mixture of individuals from various backgrounds - from Finance and Tax to Project Management, all with a common desire to provide excellent client service.

This is a very exciting time to join our specialised Service Management team as we are looking to grow due to clients demand for our service globally.

The team

Our service management professionals lead multi-country, multi-service GCR engagements. They are responsible for managing the contracting and transition processes, supporting the clients finance and tax transformation, leading client relationship management and ensuring exceptional client service throughout the life of our large global contracts. They are also responsible for developing our GCR service offerings, with opportunities to become involved in business strategy. Additionally, they work with colleagues around the world to lead pursuits and market development activity.

Your key responsibilities

As a Manager within our team you will be working on a varied and global portfolio of client engagements - ranging in size and complexity. These clients will be household names and you will be managing an innovative EY Service Management team, ensuring a high-quality delivery of compliance and coordination services. You will:

  • Supporting your global EY team with the day-to-day client contact and delivery, being a route of escalation for members of the team if they cannot move issues forward.
  • Act as the main day to day client contact for ad hoc questions and queries, building a relationship based upon trust and doing the right thing.
  • Ensure we are using our best practise documentation, and that agreed procedures and processes are adhered to on your engagements.
  • Ensure that our suite of technology tools is providing the output required to meet our contractual obligations.
  • Engage proactively on internal client catch ups, conference calls and Teams meetings - discussing the key activities you are working on & detailing required preparation for upcoming client meetings.
  • Outside of day-to-day client service activities, you will be a key support for the EY network on proposals and pricing requests.
  • Support the senior management to drive business development within your engagement and the wider team.
  • As a Manager at EY, you will actively be involved in the coaching and development of more junior members of your team and can become involved in career guidance for the wider team.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Be a deadline driven Project Manager - demonstrable Project Management experience and/or a relevant Project Management qualification would be advantageous.
  • Ideally, you will have experience of managing others.
  • Ideally, you will have experience of managing external client relationships & engaging with senior stakeholders.
  • The capability to continually re-prioritise tasks.
  • The ability to resolve issues.
  • Strong team player, with the ability to successfully work with an extended team, in multiple jurisdictions.

To qualify for the role you must have

  • Degree level qualification or equivalent, or proven work record in a similar environment.
  • Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal.
  • Excellent MS Excel & Word capability.
  • This role does not specifically require tax or accounting qualifications or experience, but previous experience in these areas would be extremely beneficial and local qualifications in these fields would be welcome.
