Human Capital as a Service (HCaaS)

You will be joining a team that is Deloitte's largest Human Capital Consultancy practice in the UK outside of London. Alongside this, it is an opportunity to join a unique team that consists of service offerings across Major Programmes and Human Centred Transformation and locations across the breadth of the UK including; Belfast, London, Cardiff, Bristol, Manchester and Leeds.

PPM Delivery Centre of Excellence

The continued success of our Centre of Excellence (part of the wider HCaaS offering) means that we are looking to grow further by recruiting IT Project Managers with experience in delivering technology transformation projects across all industries, with the right skillset and attitude towards performance, growth and development. Our team has experienced double digit growth over recent years, and we now look to continue to grow what is the largest team of PMO professionals in Northern Ireland.

The world has never before faced such a complex number of environmental, social and economic challenges and a new way of delivering transformation programmes is needed to respond to these. Our market leading transformation approach will challenge conventional thinking around the delivery of programmes, using a multi-disciplinary capability to help our clients deliver their most critical and demanding issues while reinforcing Deloitte's commitment to purpose-led change.

Our practice comprises of a blend of those who have worked previously in industry (in both technical and non-technical roles) and those who have prior consulting experience. Connect to your skills and professional experience

As a Manager level IT Project Manager you will work with a range of clients and teams across our firm, to deliver projects that often will have a high degree of complexity. These projects will vary in nature and could be either technical or non-technical. You will bring your IT project management skills, knowledge and expertise to lead cross-functional teams to achieve success. You will build strong relationships with your stakeholders, understand their strategic direction, processes and requirements to become their trusted advisor on all elements of delivery. You will have experience of working with multiple stakeholders at varying levels of seniority, to support the client or business' objectives. You will be accountable for delivering projects in alignment with the agreed benefits through a value driven approach.

You will have a proven track record in successfully managing projects using both Agile and Waterfall methodologies, and will help clients deliver complex projects, utilising a combination of consulting experience, industry knowledge, tools and technology.

You will have responsibility for:

  • Leading Agile Projects: Plan, design, and manage projects using Agile methodology principles, including Scrum, Kanban, or Scaled Agile Framework(SAFe)
  • Managing Project Team: Facilitate effective Agile ceremonies, review metrics, manage project backlogs, and lead a team of developers, business analysts, and other professionals towards the successful completion of the project.
  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with stakeholders - both internal and external to the project - identifying requirements, risks, and issues and analysing the impacts of these on project goals.
  • Facilitating Communication and Collaboration: Promote communication and collaboration to ensure a healthy team dynamic and a highly collaborative project delivery process, including using various communication tools and techniques.
  • Ensuring Project Delivery: Monitor and report on project progress to the business or project sponsors, using an iterative approach and in line with the established Agile practices. Ensure the project is delivered within the timeline, budget, and scope. Provide insight and experience to clients and engagement leadership to anticipate and resolve issues in outcome delivery.
  • Continuous Improvements: Lead and encourage Agile process improvements, fostering a culture of continuous learning, and consistent improvement in Agile execution.
  • Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate risks impacting project delivery.
  • Team Development: Develop competent and agile team members who are capable of working collaboratively, developing their skills and Agile mindset, and adopting new approaches and techniques.
  • PPM Tooling: Adopt PPM / Agile tools such as Jira and Confluence to effectively manage your projects and team.
  • Data Visualisation Tools: Uitilise data visualisation tools such as Tableau and Power B to effectively track progress.
  • Internal Practice Development: Contribute to internal practice development by participating in proposition, methodology and point of view development activities and supporting knowledge capture and sharing.
  • Business Development: Support business development by contributing to new business proposals and taking roles in industry and account teams.

The technical nature of your IT Project Management experience is expected to include:

  • Experience of Agile / Digital frameworks and methodologies
  • Managing delivery of projects, either within industry or with a consultancy
  • Good commercial awareness and experience of managing budgets and resource utilisation
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written that inspire confidence in business stakeholders and the team
  • Knowledge of the current market conditions
  • Development and management of project plans and across value streams
  • Operated as a qualified Product Owner
  • Operated as a qualified Scrum Master
  • Experience in using Microsoft AzureDev Ops / Kanban boards / Miro
  • Effective management of dependencies in a project
  • Mentoring and managing others in a project team
  • Managing progress reporting and risk management
  • Financial modelling, e.g. preparation of budgets and business cases
  • Excellent communication, problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills and be able to respond to changing priorities
  • Effectively co-ordinated all activities of project team(s)
  • Strong technical and problem-solving skills
  • Hold a current and recognised certification (Scrum or Agile equivalent)
