Job Description

Manager, Finance Transformation at Checkout.com

  • As the Finance Lead and SME, you will own the E2E execution of the Financial Infrastructure roadmap for your workstreams.
  • You will build a deep understanding of the current state of Accounting processes and identify future state solutions to be prioritised and implemented.
  • Partner with Product and Engineering teams to clearly articulate Finance requirements, gaps and inefficiencies through discovery discussions.
  • Define and document future state requirements alongside product and ensure alignment with accounting policies and best practices on controls.
  • Active involvement during the development phase to provide feedback and iterate in a fast and agile manner.
  • Lead the efforts on test and adoption for any new implementation and ensure impact to BAU operations are adequately understood and communicated to stakeholders.
  • As the day to day point of contact, ensure granular level project plan exists for your workstream and tracked via the PMO.
  • Provide clarity to key stakeholders on workstream status and maintain close communication to ensure alignment on decisions.
  • Where conflicting priorities are presented, undertake a risk based impact assessment and apply clear exception acceptance criteria.

Role overview

Successful candidates will bring Finance functional SME experience from an organisation with complex products and features, ideally within traditional finance/banking or payments/fintech. They should be comfortable thinking end to end, as well as being hands-on and operational where needed. You will be leading through others and therefore the ability to influence cross-functional teams and senior leaders is a must.

Qualifications

Experience

  • Professional finance qualification such as the ACA or equivalent
  • 4+ years post qualification experience in Finance or Accounting roles, with experience in Finance Systems transformation.
  • Proven track record of working on complex cross-functional technology transformation and implementation projects.
  • Experience collaborating with Product and Engineering teams
  • Experience working in complex, face paced agile transformation projects ideally within a listed environment of a global financial services or payments/fintech organisation.

Skills

  • SME on financial accounting, reporting, reconciliations and controls
  • Knowledge of ERP systems and their integration with GL systems
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking abilities
  • Proven track record dealing with multiple stakeholders, employing varying engagement and communication styles.
  • You are not afraid to roll up your sleeves and take responsibility to do whatever needs doing to solve problems.
