As an integral part of our Area Leadership Team, you will bring collaborative, visible, strategic, and cohesive leadership to over 450 people. Your part in this team will be critical to our success and you will be supported by the great people in our area. You will be positive, diverse thinking and able to easily connect with others inside and outside of our organisation.
Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do. You will be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents or provide business continuity support during an incident. This may attract an additional payment and full training and alternative working arrangements will be available to support you with your incident role.
The team
The Area Leadership Team sets the culture and direction of the Area and leads the delivery of everything we do across Cumbria and Lancashire. As part of this team, you will provide forward thinking and strategic direction and work with others across the wider business to influence and shape wider organisation design, systems, and ways of working. We are looking for an applicant that can provide great leadership to one of our many skilled departments.

We'll expect you to have the following skills, abilities, and experience:
• Experienced in leading, developing and motivating teams to ensure plans are delivered in line with our customers' and business needs.
• A passion for people, creating an open, inclusive, safe and trusting culture where everyone plays a part in delivering great outcomes and everyone can be their best.
• Ability to influence and contribute to the strategic direction of the Area.
• Excellent communication skills, demonstrating interaction at all levels both within and outside of the Environment Agency.

Role specific license requirements
Full UK driving license.
