Overview:

The Manager, Compliance will play a pivotal role in shaping and maintaining HR and People policies while ensuring compliance with labor laws and regulations across Europe and the Middle East. This role requires a strong ability to interpret and translate draft regulations into clear, actionable policies for the business. A deep understanding of the employment landscape across EMEA, including upcoming legislative changes such as the Employment Rights Bill, is essential. The ideal candidate will proactively assess regulatory developments, provide strategic options for implementation, and support the organization in navigating compliance complexities while optimizing HR policies and practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Regulatory Compliance & Policy Development:
  • Monitor, analyze, and interpret employment law changes across EMEA, including the Employment Rights Bill and upcoming legislative shifts over the next two years.
  • Translate draft regulations into straightforward, business-friendly policies, providing guidance on mandatory requirements and strategic options for organizations looking to go beyond compliance.
  • Develop, update, and maintain the employee handbook and local HR policies to reflect the latest employment regulations.
  • Review and refine employment contracts to ensure legal compliance and best practices.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration & Strategic Advisory:
  • Partner with internal and external legal counsel to develop policies that are compliant yet business-friendly.
  • Work closely with Global & EMEA Operations teams to ensure HR policies are implemented effectively and reflected in internal processes.
  • Advise senior leadership on the impact of evolving employment laws, ensuring they are well-informed and prepared for regulatory changes.
  • Compliance Awareness & Implementation:
  • Ensure HR teams and business leaders are equipped with clear, practical guidance on compliance requirements and policy updates.
  • Design and oversee compliance training programs to enhance awareness across the EMEA region.
  • Conduct regular compliance audits and risk assessments to identify gaps and mitigate potential risks.
  • Implement robust reporting systems and metrics to track compliance effectiveness and support decision-making.
  • Continuous Improvement & Best Practices:
  • Identify opportunities to simplify and optimize HR policies, ensuring they align with business needs while remaining compliant.
  • Collaborate with the Employee Relations team in North America to ensure consistency and alignment of policies across global locations.
  • Stay ahead of market trends and industry best practices, ensuring the company remains a leader in employment compliance.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Law, Business, or a related field.
  • Strong expertise in employment regulations across EMEA, with the ability to interpret and translate laws into actionable policies.
  • Deep understanding of the Employment Rights Bill and its associated legislative changes.
  • Prior experience in HR compliance management within a multinational organization.
  • Proven ability to review and update employment contracts and employee handbooks.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to assess compliance risks and provide strategic solutions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate complex regulations into clear guidance for business leaders.
  • Ability to work effectively across multiple teams and engage with senior leadership on compliance-related matters.

Professional certifications in HR or compliance (e.g., SHRM-SCP, CCEP, LLP) are highly desirable
