Consulting brings together multiple teams across Transactions, Risk & Consulting, ABA, and Outsourcing to provide client-centric solutions for RSM's current and future clients within the middle market. Our Consulting team has a major role to play in driving forward the growth of the firm with over 1,700 people delivering almost £200m revenue.

About the Team
RSM's Fraud Risk Services team provide a range of counter fraud services to public and private sector clients. Our work entails undertaking fraud risk assessments, reviewing processes and policies to test their robustness and effectiveness, training staff to recognise fraud, undertaking proactive exercises to find fraud (proactive work) and undertaking investigations into allegations of fraud, bribery and corruption (reactive work).
Responsibilities
Management
Has responsibility for the performance of work for their client portfolio, including;
Client deliverables;
- Client relationship and management, including ensuring timely responses to client requests;
- Supervises and coaches/develops junior members of the team;
- Undertakes line management responsibility for junior staff including supporting staff through their development and growth, undertaken staff appraisals, and dealing with any performance issues;
- Ensures the effective planning and utilisation of team members;
- Works with senior managers to deal with day-to-day team matters, feedback on performance on the job, complete PDRs and where relevant assist with the recruitment process;
- Identifies future skill requirements and succession planning for the team;
- Is responsible for reviewing their team's work, supporting evidence, working papers and concluding reports to a high standard with minimal input when seeking final review and authorisation for release to the client;
- Manages client billing in accordance with the firm's billing timescales, ensuring that chargeability and recovery targets are achieved and assist in the maintenance of the contract monitoring system for their client portfolio; and
- Takes responsibility for the financial and operational performance of work within their team.
Business skills
- Recognises and assists in managing risk within assignments;
- Is involved in additional projects and assignments, as a contract/client relationship lead;
- Can spot business development and cross selling opportunities across other areas of the business to meet client needs/issues;
- Is mindful of the commerciality of business opportunities, key deliverables and budget allocations;
- Takes initiative to develop an awareness of the firm's business beyond FRS;
- Liaises with Internal Audit Managers/Directors/Partners where we provide a joint IA and Counter Fraud Service to ensure a joined up service and capitalise on business development opportunities;
- Contributes to tenders/proposals for new work, inclusive of attending presentations to assist in winning new work; and
- Supports business development through attendance at tender presentations, networking events and relevant client and industry events as required; preparing proposals for individual assignments; preparing tenders; and identifying opportunities to provide new products and services and/or opportunities to sell existing products and services to existing clients and into new markets.
Client service and relationship
- Oversees the delivery of proactive assignments and investigations of relevant fraud cases across their client portfolio to remain up to date on client work and related matters arising;
- Takes responsibility for managing client expectations regarding assignment delivery and looks to develop innovative ways to improve client service;
- Ensures that regular and accurate progress reports are provided to client audit committees, inclusive of attendance and represents RSM at these meetings as the senior client relationship contact;
- Seeks client feedback and acts upon this in a timely manner;
- Builds and maintains relationships with senior level client contacts; and.
- Builds relationships more broadly across the firm.
Personal Effectiveness and Communication Skills
- Ensures client communications, including presentations, reports, meeting papers and other documents are clear and promptly timed, reflecting a quality and professional product;
- Delegates to more junior colleagues and gives performance feedback; and
- Develops and applies complex and specialist technical knowledge and experience, advising the team as required.
Compliance
- Monitors the compliance, effectiveness and quality of work through undertaking effective manager review of work in line with the RSM Quality Assurance Process (QA) and FRS Standard Operating Procedure (SOP); and
- Maintains RSM's high level of service and values when overseeing client work.
Requirements
- Is able to organise a varied workload, ensuring high quality client service is at the forefront of priorities;
- Effectively manages and takes ownership of their own time and priorities to meet wide ranging and varied deadlines and requirements;
- Has excellent written communication skills, with an ability to construct high quality reports which may be presented to audiences of varying degree of seniority;
- Undertakes tasks without supervision or assistance;

- Has a strong understanding of fraud and bribery legislation;
- Takes initiative on their own development and knowledge; and
- Takes an interest in client specific issues and solutions.
