You'll work with the Make-Up team to craft stunning, consistent character looks, keeping our artistes camera-ready for every studio and location shoot. From expert hair styling and wig maintenance to fostering brilliant on-set collaborations, you'll play a pivotal role in maintaining the visual magic that brings our story to life.
The role
As a Makeup Artist for Emmerdale, you'll be at the heart of our production, working closely with the Make-up Supervisor and the wider team to create and maintain iconic character looks. From breaking down scripts and mastering continuity to providing expert hair, grooming, and makeup services, you'll play a vital role in ensuring our artistes are camera-ready, whether on set or in the studio. Skills you'll need (minimum criteria)
- Certification in Media Makeup Application and Hairdressing.
- Certification in Men's barbering.
- Experience working in hair and make-up within television drama, continuing drama, film, theatre or a comparable production environment.
- Experience providing hair, make-up and barbering services for performers/artistes.
- Experience maintaining continuity of hair and make-up looks across filming days, productions, performances or comparable projects.
- Experience preparing, fitting and maintaining wigs, hairpieces or similar specialist hair equipment.
- Experience interpreting scripts, schedules, call sheets or production requirements to identify hair and make-up needs.
- Knowledge of hygiene, health and safety and infection control practices within a professional hair and make-up environment.

- Apply sound judgement when covering responsibilities outside normal duties, including supporting post-shoots or deputising where required.
- Due to travel between location(s) and set a full UK driving Licence would be beneficial.
