Job Title: Major Projects Director

CBRE Global Workplace Solutions, leading global provider of integrated facilities and corporate real estate management, are recruiting a Major Projects Director to join the team located in Italy supporting EMEA.

Purpose Of The Job

Promote, sell and build framework to deliver projects to achieve a divisional target, ensuring project compliance and QHSE regulations and standards are maintained consistently across the division and where possible exceed industry standard and projects governance.

  • Provide leadership and development for the team of project professionals in the region.
  • Building relationships with clients and supply partners to deliver projects.
  • Responsible for strategy in developing pipeline and orderbook.
  • Support the development and implementation of principal project business strategy.
  • Support divisional Senior Leadership Team in delivering divisional strategy, whilst also contributing to the overall regional project's leadership business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build correct resource structure and talent, to achieve business targets.
  • Delivery of the divisional pipeline to achieve divisional targets.
  • Building relationships with existing and potential clients.
  • Liaise with colleagues to determine and identify project opportunities. Create case studies to promote business and host key decision makers on show site tours.
  • Supporting cross selling function across the CBRE business.
  • Grow the projects business with both internal and external opportunities through innovation.
  • Support supply chain growth and management.
  • Develop divisional projects strategy in line with local governance.
  • Support the divisional business strategy and targets.
  • Support the wider regional projects business strategy.
  • Responsible for overall compliance and QHSE processes and procedures in line with local playbook.
  • Ensure all projects are administered in line with contractual obligations.
  • Negotiate and manage commercial terms and issues.
  • Contribute to and provide leadership at all business unit project reviews.
  • Work with financial director to ensure accurate divisional project forecasting and reporting.
  • Manage positive cash flow through the projects business.
  • Contribute to the development and growth of other team members.
  • Promote and ensure the safe delivery of projects through the management of risk and competence.
  • Recruit and retain talent for the present delivery and future growth of project business.
  • Monitor and ensure the delivery of contractual commitments on secured projects.
  • Work with team to ensure projects are delivered on all maintenance contracts.
  • Ensure the identification, reduction, and management of all risks (technical, statutory, health and safety, commercial or otherwise) associated with each and every project.
  • Ensure the maximisation of profit through delivery of effective training and implementation.
  • Identify and win projects through effective relationships.
  • Deliver supportive business communication through advice, review, leadership and direct contribution to management team meetings, briefings, consultation forums, correspondence, publicity, monthly and ad-hoc reporting and other applications as appropriate.
  • Promote and maintain the core values of CBRE.
  • Manage people issues and underperformance
  • Continually innovate the 'Projects' offering to generate more revenue streams and opportunities
  • Negotiate contractual obligations and disputes upstream and downstream

    • Accountabilities

    • Accountability to the Divisional Managing Director
    • Generate project opportunities by supporting building strong effective working relationships with our customers and site teams.
    • Full P & L responsibility for division.
    • Accountable as line manager for others.
    • Compliance with CBRE project management policies and procedures.
    • Ensure compliance with CBRE health and safety policy and process whilst ensuring that they are effectively implemented across both CBRE and its subcontractor's activities. These are to be regularly audited and reviewed.

    Person Specification

    Education

    • Recognised technical qualification in Construction, Mechanical or Electrical or similar (desirable)
    • Degree level qualification in Project Management (desirable)
    • Leadership management certification (desirable)

    Training

    • Degree level qualification within project management, construction management or equivalent (desirable)
    • RICS or similar chartership (desirable)
    • Business standard of written and verbal literacy and numeracy
    • APM certified (desirable)
    • Prince 2 certified (desirable)
    • CDM regulations
    • SMSTS certified
    • Nebosh certified
    • CSCS card holder
    • IOSH (desirable)

    Experience

    • Proven track record safely delivering exceptional projects in either an M&E, FM, construction or critical environment across multiple regions.
    • Experience of developing new project opportunities.
    • Proven experience of running a P&L.
    • Demonstrable evidence of business leadership.
    • Experience of creating, presenting and managing on bids, tenders and proposals.
