We are seeking multiple roles in various areas such as Paint, Assembly, Interiors and Toolroom.
Purpose of the Role
Join the Maintenance Toolroom team as the Senior Support Technician where you'll be responsible to maintain and improve equipment reliability enabling targets in output and quality to be met whilst working within Bentley operating Policies and Safety framework, and play a pivotal role in Bentley's goals and Beyond100 strategy aim. Reporting into the Maintenance Manager your main responsibilities include;
- To maintain, repair and improve jigs, fixtures and tooling to enable targets in output and quality.
- Design, manufacture and implement complex tooling solutions across the business.
- Works alongside the Engineers and Coordinators to establish PPM criteria for tooling and jigs.
- Able to read and create engineering drawings.
- Lead Route Cause Analysis tasks ensuring Problem Solving Tools and techniques are used where appropriate to ensure repeat issues are prevented and lessons learnt are communicated throughout the team.
About the Team
The Toolroom Production Maintenance team is responsible for providing engineering support to deliver high standards of reliability and uptime of production equipment. This includes continuous improvement projects for the Manufacturing department. This is achieved through collaboration with key stakeholders within Bentley and the wider VW group. As part of a dynamic, manufacturing team, you will innovate, develop and lead manufacturing activities cross functionally and be part of the industry 4.0 digitalisation journey.
About you
Skills and Experience
- Skilled in the use of conventional Toolroom machinery (lathes, milling machines, surface grinders, etc.) working to precision tolerances.
- Toolroom CNC experience an advantage but not essential.
- Experience in repairing and maintaining mould tools.
- Knowledge of injection mould tooling & fault diagnosis
- Experience of Hot Runner systems would be beneficial
- Toolmaker bench skills essential.
- Hot Work (welding, brazing etc) skills would be an advantage.
- Works as part of a team with a strong customer focus.
- Good communication skills.
Technical Knowledge and Qualifications
- Accredited Toolmaking Apprenticeship to NVQ3 or equivalent.
- Comprehensive knowledge of mould tooling
- Has / prepared to attain IOSH, SMSTS, NEBOSH General certificate in Health & Safety Qualifications
