The Opportunity:
ML6 has partnered with a first-class manufacturing organization in their search for a Maintenance Manager to join their rapidly growing team in Bristol, VA. In this key leadership role, you'll oversee all maintenance operations and drive improvements in equipment reliability, process efficiency, and plant performance. You'll lead initiatives focused on cost reduction, workflow optimization, and long-term production reliability. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on leader with a strong maintenance background and a passion for continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Lead and manage the Maintenance Department, ensuring effective support for production and facilities while emphasizing preventative strategies and resource planning.
- Drive manufacturing process improvements by analyzing workflows, identifying inefficiencies, and implementing best practices to improve performance and reduce costs.
- Recommend and support facility layout changes and production floor improvements that enhance material flow.
- Oversee implementation of quality testing protocols and help resolve production bottlenecks in final test areas.
- Lead cross-functional improvement initiatives to enhance operating performance and reduce waste.
- Partner with vendors and equipment suppliers to identify cost-effective technologies and potential equipment upgrades.
- Balance daily maintenance needs with project deadlines while aligning departmental objectives with broader company goals.
What You'll Need to Be Successful:
- At least 10 years of hands-on maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- A minimum of 5 years of leadership or supervisory experience within maintenance.
- Demonstrated success in process improvement, waste reduction, and cost-saving initiatives.
- Experience with facility layout planning, equipment specification, or sourcing.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills for cross-functional work and vendor partnerships.
- Technical school education, PLC programming/troubleshooting experience, or exposure to automation/robotics is highly preferred.
