We are on the search for an experienced Maintenance Manager who understands and can demonstrate technical aspects of an FMCG process.

Ideal candidate will hold a Technical Degree or degree level attainment in an Engineering field.

Our Maintenance Manager is responsible for maximising availability of planned capacity through leadership of equipment maintainers and users with effective, preventative asset care and team development. They are also responsible for assisting the Technical Manager with capital project management, facilities & tooling management. The ideal candidate will be a positive role model and challenge individual behavioural for a positive and contributing work force.

Areas of responsibility include:

• Ensure safe working practices are followed at all times and to drive improvements to safety, staff welfare and environmental impacts
• Take a lead role within the Engineering Team, supporting the Technical Manager in the development of plant engineering strategy and budget
• Effectively delegate any maintenance issues to be resolved on each shift and small projects to the right skills in the team, planning and managing effective works
• Manage and distribute the planned and reactive engineering / maintenance tasks through effective maintenance planning. Ensure all tasks are completed within managed timeframes to ensure
• Develop a Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule, ensure full preventative maintenance is carried out, plan in missed maintenance activities, and lead the team to deliver effectively
• Manage, lead and coach the team, ensuring adequate staffing levels and holiday cover
• Create and manage an efficient planned maintenance schedule and ensure all work carried out complies with the schedule.
• Develop, implement and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) for each area of responsibility with Technical Manager
• Ensure KPIs are met by working to the overall plan, including management of, and reporting
• Drive the continuous improvement of quality, customer service, efficiency and costs through machinery and staff.
• Advise and influence other departments to ensure that maintenance is fully supported
• Develop and maintain co-operative relationships with customers, suppliers and other external contacts for the good of the business.
• Ensure all relevant records are maintained
• Ensure communication between Management and Shopfloor is clear and consistent with regards to all aspects of business performance
• Assist the Technical Manager with capital projects, as assigned, within time and cost
• Develop clear accountability for maintenance material spend combined with a strategy to manage expenditure
