Your Role
As an M&A Integration Project Manager, you will oversee the delivery of business and IT integration projects post-merger. You will be responsible for producing project documentation, tracking progress, managing risks, adhering to deadlines and budgets, and reporting to key stakeholders. You will also coordinate business change activities and ensure the implementation and embedding of changes across people, processes, and technology to achieve the M&A investment goals.
This hybrid role demands strong project management skills in both business and IT, as you will take over projects mid-lifecycle to ensure they meet requirements, stay on budget, and are completed on time.
What You'll Be Doing
Project management
- Take full responsibility for defining, approaching (agile, waterfall, etc.), facilitating, and completing M&A projects.
- Identify, assess, and manage risks to project success.
- Maintain realistic project plans and ensures regular, accurate communication to stakeholders.
- Ensure quality reviews occur on schedule and according to procedure.
- Manage the change control procedure and ensures project deliverables are completed within agreed cost, timescale, and resource budgets, and are signed off.
- Provide effective leadership to the project team and takes appropriate action if team performance deviates from agreed tolerances.
Relationship management
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with the M&A team, the M&A Integration team, the CIO team, and business stakeholders.
- Implement stakeholder engagement/communication plans, including handling complaints, problems, and issue to resolution
- Use feedback from customers and stakeholders to measure the effectiveness of stakeholder management.
Change implementation planning and management
- Create the business readiness plan, considering IT deployment, data migration, capability deployment, and business integration activities.
- Determine readiness levels of business users regarding upcoming changes.
- Understand impacts and challenges, uncover readiness gaps, and create action plans to close gaps before going live.
- Assis the user community with transition support and change planning, liaising with the project team.
- Monitor and report progress on business readiness targets, business engagement activity, training design and deployment, key operational metrics, and return to productivity measures.
- Define activities to bring stakeholders to the required level of commitment before going live.
- Identify and secure required support during the change to embed new practices and behaviours.
Financial management
- Contribute to financial planning and budgeting for the project & monitor all required financial records for compliance and audit.
- Assist other areas of IT with financial tasks, especially identifying process, service, project, and component costs.
- Collate required financial data and reports for analysis.
- Facilitate decision-making and track business benefit realisation.
Performance management
- Lead cross-functional individuals and teams, allocating a broad range of project tasks as required.
- Provide support, and guidance in line with individuals' skills and abilities, & monitor progress against agreed quality and performance criteria.
About You
- Experience of delivering M&A integration projects in the Legal Sector is highly desirable
- Experience of successfully managing the delivery of projects across both IT and business change environments.
- Experience of successfully engaging groups of diverse stakeholders to Board level.
- Working knowledge of Project Management tools and methodologies (e.g. Prince2 and agile project management)
- Stakeholder analysis, management and engagement planning
- Organised, methodical and conscientious
- Be adaptable and react positively to change and able to work on your own initiative.
- Clear decision-making ability with the facility to judge complex situations and assess when to escalate issues
- Good influencing and persuasion skills with the ability to inspire multidisciplinary teams and build successful relationships at all levels.
