In this highly entrepreneurial role, you'll cultivate valuable relationships with software business owners, brokers, and other key players, driving capital deployment and investment opportunities. As a full-cycle M&A Associate Director, you'll combine your sales and relationship skills to spearhead business development while leveraging your analytical and financial expertise to lead and execute comprehensive due diligence. This is a unique chance to manage, invest, and deploy substantial capital swiftly, with the exciting potential to build, expand, and lead your own M&A team.
Requirements
Identify M&A targets that align with Valsoft's growth objectives, aiming to generate $200M+ in buyable revenue opportunities per quarter.
- Employ a proactive approach, reaching out to potential targets through various channels, conducting exploratory calls, and fostering relationships with owners and sell-side advisors.
- Evaluate and assess target acquisitions against Valsoft's criteria, and determine realistic valuation expectations.
- Conduct a comprehensive pre-acquisition due diligence encompassing both commercial and financial aspects in collaboration with the Montreal team.
- Negotiate deal terms, ultimately aiming to achieve $15-20M per year in acquired revenues with the support of the Investment Partner.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For in Our Next Leader:
- A Bachelor's degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or a related quantitative discipline.
- Proven experience in investment banking, private equity, M&A, or corporate development within a capital market environment.
- Exceptional business development and financial analysis abilities, including expertise in building financial models.
- Flexibility to travel up to 25% of the time.
- Possession of CFA or CIIA qualifications is a plus.
- Knowledge of the buy and build model, with experience or familiarity in VMS or software considered an asset.
- A genuine curiosity and eagerness to learn about various businesses across diverse industries.
