Position Summary:

The Logistics Manager is responsible for co-ordinating and managing the efficient movement of goods: Import/Export, ensuring timely delivery and optimising costs.

The role is responsible for ensuring trade compliance is adhered to.

This role is focused on the EMEA region as a whole and the Dundee business but requires coordination with global stakeholders as the supply base is shared across global sites.

The Logistics Manager will take complete ownership of every aspect of the supplier's performance in the assigned portfolio in terms of safety, quality, delivery and cost.

The Logistics Manager serves as an escalation point for resolving major logistics issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Exemplify Dover Zero harm rules in support of a safe working environment
  • Develop and implement logistics strategies that prioritise cost saving, timeliness and service quality
  • Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, vendors and freight carriers
  • Negotiate favourable terms, rates, and delivery schedules
  • Collaborate with production teams to ensure alignment of logistics operations with production schedules and resource planning
  • Resolve any logistics-related issues or delays to minimise disruptions to production workflows and customer deliveries
  • Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality standards in relation to transportation requirements
  • Able to interpret, manage, administer and comply with global trade agreements, tariffs and customs requirements specific to each country, mitigating risks and avoiding costly penalties
  • Ownership and accountability of sanctions compliance
  • Responsible for internal compliance audits and a focal point of contact for external compliance audits
  • CBAM compliance reporting
  • Track and report on key logistics metrics, including delivery performance, shipping costs, and provide actionable insights to senior management
  • International travel may be required to visit suppliers or other Dover locations

Candidate Profile:

  • Proven leadership experience in a distribution, warehousing and transport environment
  • Strong analytic skills with ability to identify inefficiencies and implement cost-saving initiatives
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Well-versed in the ever-changing landscape of international trade regulations
  • Expert in the development, deployment and administration of service contracts and terms and conditions
  • Ability to use data to support excellent decision making
  • Demonstrates full accountability and ownership for all aspects of assigned areas of responsibility
  • Comfortable in presenting information in a variety of formats to senior management

Candidate Experience and Qualifications:

  • Must have extensive experience in logistics and supply chain management
  • Minimum of five years working in a similar role, preferably within high-volume manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency in trade compliance and aware of any future changes in compliance
  • Experience working with Oracle ERP system
  • Proficient in use of MS packages.
  • Proficiency in service contracts and terms and conditions.
  • Excellent English (verbal and written)
