About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for you to join as a Local Marketing Planning Manager in our Local Marketing and Events team.
This role will be responsible for leading the local marketing plan, planning process, governance and prioritisation of all local marketing activities. It is crucial to collaborate with other Planning functions across the business to ensure key information is reflected in the Customer Plan.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about driving performance, empowering Partners across our stores to drive local footfall, and be able to confidently market our shops on a local level.
As a local specialist you will play a key role in a fast paced, dynamic and innovative marketing environment. You’ll work closely with our Digital Marketing, Social, CRM and Loyalty capabilities to ensure that we are reminding our customers of the fantastic reasons to visit their local store.
Excellent knowledge of the current retail landscape and how customers shop is imperative to this role. You’ll be exploring what drives footfall to our shops and how we can look to continually give our customers the best service and experience. You’ll have an understanding about the John Lewis & Partners existing in store offering and lead marketing activity to support; events, experiences, services and personalised shopping. You will also liaise with external agencies where appropriate to deliver our strategy.
Some of your key responsibilities will include:

Lead and own the local marketing plan, planning process, governance and prioritisation of all local marketing activities

Collaborates with Planning functions across the business to ensure key information in reflected in the Customer Plan

Works with our Events and Marketing coordinators in store to ensure they are empowered to market in their local catchments and understand their target customers

Works seamlessly with our Creative and Media agencies to deliver best in class Local Marketing activity

Actively provides insight, knowledge and improvements across planning and delivery of Local Marketing activities

Take a test and learn and approach, as well as monitor, measure and optimise store performance

Responsible for supporting budgeting and forecasting
Essential skills you’ll need:

Marketing planning of retail activity

Budget management and planning

Excellent marketing brief writing skills

Prolific in processes and improving and developing new ways of working

Footfall driving marketing or planning experience
Desirable Skills you will have:

Enthusiastic about physical retail and the customer experience and events.

Creative thinking to deliver both tactical and long term strategies to support our shops.

Experience of understanding customers, tone of voice and ability to drive performance whilst protecting brand values.

Requires organisational skills to ensure end to end campaigns.

Able to work to multiple timelines from reactive next day planning to 18 months out on strategic initiatives.

Experience of senior stakeholder management.
