Link Driver CDH

About the roleAs our Link Van Driver, you will deliver John Lewis stock between customer delivery Hubs, John Lewis branches, and third parties. You will also assist the Warehouse Operation team in processing incoming and outgoing goods using appropriate systems.

While on the road, you’ll be representing the John Lewis brand and demonstrate the highest driving standards, respectively and courteously. This role requires you to promote the Partnership brand through professional and courteous conduct. You will adhere to all legal driving, working time, health, and safety regulations.Due to its nature, you need to be 18 years or older to work in this role.

Key Responsibilities

Your day will see you start at the delivery hub where you are based before heading out on a route. Your responsibilities will include:

- Ensuring your vehicle is driven safely, economically, and within health and safety guidelines, representing the John Lewis brand at all times.

-Ensure the security of John Lewis goods and vehicles to prevent stock loss and damage.

- Assisting the wider shop team in processing goods, incoming and outgoing, using the appropriate systems.

- Processing paperwork for outgoing and returned items accurately.

- Loading, transporting and unloading stock between your shop and service building in a timely manner.

-Report any incidents or accidents immediately to the CDH Management Team.

Please note this role involves heavy lifting: You will spend a lot of time delivering large items such as sofas, white goods, sports equipment, furniture, beds, and mattresses between distribution sites.

Essential skills/experience you'll need:

-Manual C1 UK driving licence (with a maximum of 6 points)

-DCPC (Driver Certificate of Professional Competence) or Driver Qualification Card by the first day in the role.

- Tachograph Card.

-Previous experience driving a 7.5-tonne vehicle.

Desirable skills/experience you can bring:

- Previous experience in a warehouse role involving the movement of caged stock and manual handling.

- Previous experience working in a retail environment.

- Basic computer skills (for stock control systems).About The Partnership
