Job Description
As the Licensing Manager, you will support Atlassian Williams Racing's licensing program, building strategic partnerships that enhance our brand, expand our reach, and create exceptional products for our fans. You will manage end-to-end licensing operations, from strategy and contract negotiation to ongoing relationship management. This role requires a commercial mindset, creativity, and a passion for motorsport.
This is an exciting opportunity for a Junior licensing Manager or established Licensing Executive to take their next step and work in this exciting formula one team.
Main Duties:
Licensing Strategy & Development
- Support the development and implementation of a comprehensive licensing strategy aligned with Atlassian Williams Racing's brand and commercial objectives.
- Identify and evaluate new licensing opportunities across product categories, geographies, and channels.
- Drive innovation in product development, ensuring all licensed products reflect the Atlassian Williams Racing ethos and appeal to our diverse fanbase.
Partner Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with current and prospective licensees, fostering collaboration and long-term success.
- Negotiate and manage licensing agreements, ensuring mutual value for all stakeholders.
- Monitor partner performance to ensure compliance with brand guidelines, contractual obligations, and revenue targets.
Product Development & Brand Integrity
- Oversee the design and development of licensed products, ensuring they meet Williams' high standards.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders (e.g., marketing, legal, creative teams) to safeguard brand consistency across all licensed merchandise.
- Stay informed about trends in motorsport, retail, and consumer products to keep the Atlassian Williams Racing brand fresh and competitive.
Performance & Reporting
- Track licensing revenue and report on key performance metrics to senior leadership.
- Conduct market analysis to identify growth opportunities and measure competitive performance.
- Assist with managing the licensing budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 3 years of proven experience in licensing.
- Experience managing high-value, complex licensing agreements and resolving disputes when necessary.
- Experience within the sports, motorsport, or entertainment industries is highly desirable.
- An understanding of licensing frameworks, including royalty structures, contract negotiation, and compliance.
- Knowledge of intellectual property (IP) rights, trademarks, and copyright laws as they apply to licensing.
- Negotiation skills to secure favourable terms with licensees while maintaining strong, positive relationships.
- Analytical ability to leverage market research and data insights to inform decisions.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple licensing projects simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail in tracking contract terms, performance metrics, and product quality standards.
