Library Development Manager

Job Introduction
We're looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic person with a keen interest in public libraries to join our team.
You'll manage and lead the development team who work collaboratively to deliver a high quality, inclusive and accessible library service.
The role requires you to work alternate Saturdays and a late night on alternate Thursdays.
Travel will be required so a full UK driving licence is desirable.
A basic DBS check is also required.
Interview for this role will be held on 19 February.
Main Responsibility
- Member of the library management team.
- Manage, motivate and develop staff within the team.
- Responsibility for the library stock fund ensuring cost effective purchasing.
- Implement a programme of activities and events across Milton Keynes to promote and enhance the service.
The Ideal Candidate
- Qualified to a professional standard in a discipline relevant to libraries or substantial experience and knowledge.
- For this role, the candidate is required to have a full UK driving licence, along with access to a vehicle. Evidence of the driving licence and vehicle insurance with business insurance will be required from the candidate should they be offered this position. Without this documentation the candidate will not be appointable.

Our roles are either designated 'site based' or 'home based'. 'Site based' roles can include up to two days a week working from home whilst 'home based' roles are based at home four days a week. Of course, managers designate which category roles are in based on the needs of the service and the circumstances.
