The Team

Our Aviation liability practice is renowned throughout the aviation sector, with a substantial track record of advising airlines and their insurers in relation to aviation loss and damageand complex multi-jurisdictional claims.

Our team hold extensive experience of advising on a wide range of aviation, space, insurance and reinsurance issues.

The carrier liability practice is predominantly focused on advising and defending airlines and their insurers/reinsurers including cargo insurance. We act for a significant number of the world's airlines, including flag carriers, regional airlines, start-ups and low cost carriers.

The Role

This role will focus on providing our multifaceted client base with a variety of aviation liability services. The principal areas of practice will include; aviation insurance, airlines, airports, cargo, catastrophe work, general aviation multi-jurisdictional, passenger, personal injury, products, reinsurance and subrogation. Aviation liability including hull claims, major accidents, cargo, personal injury, insurance coverage and general aviation principally within Europe and the Middle East.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Acts as an expert in aviation liability, advising colleagues and sharing knowledge.
  • Hold strategic business knowledge and have strong working relationships with clients within the aviation industry.
  • Be able to supervise, coach and mentor members of the team effectively, acting as a trusted manager.
  • Support the growth and development of members of their team.
  • Proactively seeks out new business opportunities and takes a lead role in business development initiatives.
  • Supporting partners with monitoring the practice groups finances.
  • Ability to analyse, anticipate issues and concerns, providing proactive solutions to clients.
  • Draft precedents, technical advice and opinion papers on complex legal matters
  • Continue to develop firms offering within aviation liability.
