The successful launch of innovative courses has given us a significant opportunity to increase and enrich our team of lecturing staff in the Business School. Successful candidates would join a lively, diverse international team of practitioner-academics drawn from a variety of backgrounds.

LBS has a long history of applied learning and engagement with business and industry, and we are seeking an academic with extensive practitioner experience of broadcast and/or multimedia journalism who can deliver and manage multiple modules across the newly accredited MSc in Sports Journalism, the established BA (Hons) in Sports Journalism and other courses within the subject area.

You will have significant and recent experience in the industry and will be able to demonstrate a commitment to providing high quality teaching in sports journalism modules specifically and broadcast and multimedia journalism more widely. You will have excellent story-telling and editorial skills across a range of media, especially in UK TV and radio. Up-to-date knowledge of cross-platform journalism would be an advantage as would be specialist experience of delivering on BJTC accredited courses, a solid "traditional" background in journalism and continuing experience in industry.

Candidates will also have recent Higher Education teaching and module leadership experience and evidence of active postgraduate research activity. Lecturing on the Undergraduate and Postgraduate journalism awards at Leeds Business School requires a high level of organisational skill, a willingness to centre students and the ability to teach with enthusiasm, knowledge and innovation.

As a member of our School, you would be expected to undertake a number of activities including research, teaching across a range of levels and contexts from first year undergraduate to Masters students, supervision of projects and/or dissertations and, supporting our ambitions to build partnerships with local and national media, and sporting organisations.
