Learning Support Team Manager - Digital, Printing and Fashion

We are looking to appoint an experienced technician and people leader to manage a diverse team of Learning Support Specialists that provide technical support in Fashion, Digital Printing, Photography and Software Support within the Leeds School of Arts. The team supports the teaching and learning activities of both staff and students with practical help and advice as well as providing technical support to the wider School as required
As the Learning Support Team Manager for the Digital, Printing and Fashion team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring exceptional support for both undergraduate and postgraduate provision across a wide range of courses such as Graphics, Fine Art, Illustration, Architecture, Fashion and Fashion Marketing. With significant and demonstrable experience in at least two of the teams' core disciplines of Fashion, Photography, Digital Printing and image reproduction or Software Support for CAD/Architecture you will lead, manage and contribute to an outstanding student facing support service and the smooth operation of our labs, workshops, studios, loan desks and classrooms.
You will use your proven experience in team and people management, ideally within a creative or educational setting and strong organisational skills to strategically plan and organize team schedules and work allocation ensuring that resources are efficiently allocated to meet the diverse needs of our staff and students.
As well as assisting in day-to-day operations you will also help facilitate a vibrant program of showcases, exhibitions and shows across the school, often working with colleagues from other areas such as Performing Arts, Music, Film and Creative Technologies.
You will be required to provide advice and assistance to academic staff on the development of learning resources and procedures, and in the preparation of equipment and the safe working practices within a professional environment, including experience in current Health and Safety legislation and practices.
You will also be required to work closely and proactively with learning support colleagues in the wider School teams to provide an integrated service to support a wide range of activities and thus a flexible approach to work location will be required.
