Overview:
The learning portfolio manager is responsible for managing the design, development, organi s ation , delivery and evaluation of speciali s ed learning programs within a dedicated portfolio of learning. This role collaborates closely with Learning Partners, subject matter experts (SMEs) and delivery teams to ensure that training initiatives align with organizational needs and objectives . A deep understanding of instructional design, learning operations and content management is essentia l.
Key Responsibilities:
Learning & Development Operations:
- Collaborate on Training Needs: Work closely with Learning Partners to identify and prioriti s e training needs across the organi s ation based on business and performance challenges. Assist Learning Partners with the analysis phase as needed.
- Guidance on Best Practices: Provide informed guidance on best practice approaches to address identified business performance challenges with blended learning solutions.
- High-Level Design Proposals: Produce high-level design proposals/proof of concept prototypes and Statements of Work (SOW) in partnership with relevant business stakeholders and in close consultation with intended end users.
- Operational Ownership: Manage and refine processes, methodologies, and tools used for creating, curating, organ s ing , delivering and evaluating learning content that meets organi s ational goals.
- Course Catalog Management: Maintain and update the course catalog, ensuring it reflects the current training offerings and meets evolving business needs.
Course Design & Development:
- Content Development and Evaluation: Design and develop high-quality learning content aligned with specific learning objectives as identified by Learning Partners..
- Review and Update Existing Solutions: Work in partnership with business stakeholders and Learning Business Partners to review existing learning solutions and coordinate updates, revisions and continuous improvement activities.
- Development/Curation of Assets: Lead the development and/or curation of a wide range of different assets (digital/print/graphics/media) with the support of internal teams and external vendors, graphic designers and media specialists.
- Adherence to Design Processes: Take responsibility for ensuring all design processes are adhered to and design projects are delivered on time and in line with project plans.
- SME Collaboration: Engage with SMEs to create and review course materials, ensuring technical accuracy and relevance.
- Instructional Design: Apply instructional design principles and multimedia resources to enhance content effectiveness and engagement.
- Vendor & Tool Management: Manage relationships with content vendors and leverage development tools (e.g., Articulate, video editing software) to produce top-tier learning materials.
Course Preparation & Execution:
- Instructor Preparation: If applicable, c onduct \Train-the-Trainer\ sessions and ensure instructors are well-prepared for delivery.
- Delivery Coordination: Work with the delivery team to kick off new courses, ensuring readiness and alignment with portfolio objectives .
- Communication Oversight: Review and approve all course communications, ensuring consistency and alignment with organi s ational standards.
- Training Support: Provide on-site or remote support during course conduct as needed to ensure a seamless training experience.
Learning Materials and Content Management:
- Content Finali s ation & Storage: Oversee the organi s ation , storage, retrieval and version control of techn ology learning materials, implementing processes to maintain content accessibility and accuracy.
- LMS : Own technical course SharePoint sites, coordinate with the LMS team for course setup and ensure that all materials are accessible in the LMS.
