Mill Green School is an 'Outstanding', maintained community special school, providing education to young people aged 14-19. The Governing Body of Mill Green School are seeking to appoint a dynamic and proactive Learning Mentor to play a prominent role in delivering outstanding pastoral care and supporting the school's attendance and behaviour strategy. More importantly, we are looking for someone who can offer the highest level of care and support to the complex young people who attend our school.

Working alongside our Senior Leadership and within our successful Pastoral Team, the successful candidate will demonstrate commitment, drive and enthusiasm, having a proactive problem-solving approach in support of outstanding student behaviour, attitudes, wellbeing and attendance.

The role has many facets and will require considerable skills in liaising with parents/carers, young people, teachers and other stakeholders, including external agencies with the ability to develop and maintain positive relationships a key to the success of the role.

Our young people have complex needs which can present complex emotional and behavioural needs which mean they need more support than most. As a Learning Mentor, you will ensure that these needs are supported by applying high standards of care, developing interventions and support programmes for individual young people. With careful assessment and planning, you'll create a positive learning environment where every young person can thrive and achieve their potential.

The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills and have the highest expectations for themselves and others. They will be able to work both independently and as part of a wider team and prioritise workload accordingly. They will be joining a team of highly skilled and committed professionals who are relentless in the pursuit of pastoral excellence.
