Brief Description

The purpose of this role is to manage the design and development of learning and development materials, producing creative, cost effective solutions for a range of delivery methods to Network Rail's agreed quality and safety standards.

This role can be based out of Birmingham, Manchester or Milton Keynes.

About the role (External)

Some of the key accountabilities include:

1. Analyse training, assessment, and assurance requirements for relevant portfolio in order to recommend creative, cost effective solutions that meet prevailing organisational imperatives and learner needs.

2. Project manage the end-to-end process of design and development, including communications and implementation, of learning and assurance solutions to agreed time, budget, and quality standards, for use in blended or face to face events.

3. Manage the collaborative working relationships pertaining to all matters affecting the development and implementation of learning and assurance solutions between internal stakeholders (such as framework owners, professional heads, workforce delivery colleagues, customers) and external development suppliers.

4. Lead working groups and project teams, and engage with internal or external subject matter experts, to agree design specifications, technical requirements, and deliverables.

5. Interface professionally and communicate project progress as required to customer account managers, peers, managers, customers, and stakeholders.

6. Control outputs to certify that prevailing Network Rail branding, design, and technical guidelines are consistently applied, an audit trail of draft materials is maintained, and that final versions are appropriately proofed and approved prior to publication.

7. Continuously review the effectiveness of the project cycle to identify opportunities to improve effectiveness and efficiency, incorporating lessons learned into future projects.

In order to be successful in this role, we would like you to have/to be:

Essential

• Demonstrable experience in designing, developing, and implementing creative, innovative and effective learning and development solutions, across a diverse range of disciplines and delivery methods

• Experience of managing successful projects including evidence of successful customer/stakeholder relationship management skills

• Highly proficient in the use of Microsoft Office packages

• Strong attention to detail

• Good organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

We would also like but it isn't crucial to have/to be:

Desirable

• A learning and development principles qualification

• A relevant project management qualification

• Experience in the use of MS Project

• Knowledge of instructional design principles for blended learning solutions

• Knowledge of the railway industry or a related engineering discipline]]>
