Description

As Bede's Learning & Development Manager, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our colleagues on all L&D activity. You will be a key leader within the People team and are instrumental in designing, implementing and managing our learning programmes that enhance the skills of our colleagues and their leaders.

Working closely with the Head of People and other key stakeholders in the organisation you will own and drive the Learning & Development strand of the People strategy. Looking holistically across the business you proactively partner with managers and support them in understanding the learning and development requirements their teams need, utilising your ownership of the Learning & Development budget to ensure we can provide the right external support where required.

You also act as a thought partner to the Head of People and People Partner to provide advice on broader People topics.

This is a hybrid role that requires you to be in our Newcastle-upon-Tyne office two days a week. Please apply only if you're comfortable with this arrangement.

What you'll be doing

  • In line with the People strategy, building the Learning & Development strategy to prioritise learning interventions for maximum value
  • Recommend learning that supports career pathways across the business including a focus on building technical capability across Bede
  • Collaborating with leadership teams to develop and implement interventions that drive change and improvement.
  • Create a suite of learning options for all employees from initial induction to senior management training programmes to expand and development talent and skills at all levels within the business.
  • Helping create internal top tier e-Learning and employee resources through ownership of our digital learning design function including line management of our Digital Learning Designer.
  • Working with the People Team and Management teams, to support the performance management process, and from this develop learning initiatives to support needs identified.
  • Generate reports on Learning & Development to demonstrate and measure success and return on investment in this area
  • Working with Compliance to ensure that all required compliance and regulatory education is developed and completed.
  • Acting as an influential player, expert lead and adviser to colleagues, ensuring People strategy and key deliverables are achieved.
  • Establishes effective partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate a clear understanding of performance, engagement or skills challenges
  • Ensure the effective allocation and monitoring of budgets, including the apprenticeship levy.
  • Provide coaching, guidance and mentorship to Managers to further enhance leadership and change management capability.
  • Ensure our learning offering is clearly communicated, that is championed by our leaders and helps build our learning culture

  • Experience of supporting the delivery of a strategic people agenda in a fast-paced environment
  • Commercial acumen and knowledge of trends and changes that impact people and the working culture.
