We currently have a fantastic opportunity available for a Leakage Operational Performance Managerto join our team based in Exeter. You will join us on a full-time, permanent basis, and in return, you will receive a competitive salary of £40,000 - £50,000 per annum plus a range of excellent company benefits + rewards.

About the role:

South West Water and all UK Water Companies have been set the ambitious target of achieving zero leakage by 2050 and there is an industry wide effort to utilise data from smarter networks for better accounting of water and more effective intervention strategies to reduce water loss.

The Leakage Operational Performance Manager will support a wide range of functions within South West Water and work alongside a team of experienced data scientists, analysts and engineers to provide analytical insights to operational leakage delivery teams in the South West, Bournemouth and Isles of Scilly.

As the Leakage Operational Performance Manager you will be reporting to the Data Strategy & Reporting Manager.

What you'll be doing:

• Reporting of operational leakage performance to senior managers for the South West and Bournemouth areas
• Regulatory submissions such as PALM (Prevent, Aware, Locate, Mend) and other operational focused metrics.
• Help improve the accuracy of leakage reporting in areas where operational input is required such as 'hour to day' (pressure) factors and upstream losses.
• Help operational teams use data to identify opportunities for pressure management, network/DMA design, trunk main leakage reduction and acoustic/flow logging.
• Find opportunities for innovation and coordinate trials with new technologies which utilise sensor and asset data to improve leak find and fix efficiency.
• Formulate tactical and strategic plans for leakage reduction using data insights across operational activities.
• Improve the efficacy of processes within active leakage control by building and maintaining data tools.
• Improve the quality of data captured across leakage activities
• Help develop reporting and decision making tools - leakSure and Waternet and support operational colleagues within leakage to make the most of these systems.

What we are looking for:

• Computer science, mathematics, geographic or data science and analytics background
• Experience in the water industry or similar industry and familiar within regulatory frameworks
• Experience presenting data and insights to a varied audience
• Experience in an operational environment and working with field-based teams
• Detailed understanding of analytical approaches to support leakage management
• Using markdowns or visualisation software to display data.
• Excellent report writing skills with the adoption of a strategic, business focussed approach
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, learn autonomously, and highly organised
• Establishes rapport easily and builds effective working relationships
• Invested in the interests of the company; to provide clean safe drinking water, protect the environment, and exceed
