An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Leadership Development Manager to join our team. Engaging with leaders and managers across the organisation to understand their needs you will design, implement, and evaluate a range of leadership and management development programmes. This is a temporary position for 12 months with the potential of this post becoming permanent.

You will provide effective line management support to a team of Learning and Development specialists, whilst also shaping and driving various workstreams. With a passion for individual and team development, you will understand how this embeds within the overall organisational talent management process.

An effective problem solver, you will be able to manage numerous and competing demands whilst also being able to promote the work of your teams confidently and effectively through a range of communication methods.

Responsibilities

  • Design a suite of programmes, aligned to the organisational Career Development Pathways, creating a clear career path from first line manager through to executive leadership.
  • Plan and deliver leadership development activities which incorporate a variety of learning methodologies to ensure that managers are equipped with the skills required to embed a high-performance culture.
  • Evaluate the impact of existing and new leadership development offerings to identify areas for improvement, and opportunities to enhance activities to support leaders across the Service at all levels.
  • Assist in the development of coaching as a key leadership style by ensuring that coaching principles and skills are built into leadership and management development programmes.

Experience and skills Essential skills or experience

  • Significant relevant experience within a learning and development environment.
  • Experience of designing and implementing leadership and management development programmes.
  • Track record of delivering engaging and informative training interventions.
  • Experience of coaching and mentoring.
  • Understanding of core leadership theories and best practice.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to confidently engage with all levels of staff across the organisation.

Desirable skills or experience

  • Educated to degree level in a relevant field is desirable.
