The Role

We are seeking a passionate and accomplished Chartered Senior Quantity Surveyor, to support the next generation of QSs to successfully navigate our newly developed QS Training pathway.

This role will require the highest levels of professional competence, in both commercial and contractual elements, alongside the patience and energy required to develop a cohort of 6 QS conversion candidates. Supporting and advising them in their career progression and their project roles, ensuring effective client care and project portfolio delivery.

You will act as trainer, coach and mentor to the next generation of professionals, who are set to join our growing business at the start of 2025.

Helping them to hone their skills in the new world of QSing, and to understand fully elements of construction technology, contract compliance, commercial management. Crucially, you will help hone their skills to optimise effective teamworking, collaboration and communication, to fully support our client project and framework portfolio.

Our goal is to create a high performing QS team, capable of attaining the highest levels of professional competence, and able to act independently in client project roles, to ensure successful project outcomes on behalf of our clients.

You will manage the team from onboarding, through to successful attainment of their Post Graduate QS qualification, whilst ensuring the highest levels of client service and efficacy are maintained throughout their training journey.

Our cohort will come from a diverse range of backgrounds and experience, and as such you will need to be adaptable and approachable in your training and development strategies, to get the very best from every member the team, and to create an effective shared learning culture.

You will be supported by the People & Performance Team, and the Board of Directors, to ensure effective and comprehensive training plans and programmes are in place, which will ensure a rigorous and agile approach to personal professional development is maintained throughout the programme pathway - it will be our joint mission to get the very best from the cohort, and to ensure rapid and effective personal professional development.

Requirements

  • You should hold as a minimum MRICS accreditation or higher (similar or equivalent designations will be considered) in order to support candidates through to chartership
  • You will ideally hold supplementary qualifications or accreditations in contract law and/or professional practice
  • You should have a demonstrable track record in people management and development
  • A working knowledge of the NEC4 suite of contracts is required in order to provide practical insight and support the team in their client roles
  • You will have an engaging, inspiring and inclusive approach to team management and leadership, and strive for the highest professional standards at all times

Salary - Excellent Salary Package
