Job Title: Lead Project Professional

Salary: £57,500+ depending on experience

What you’ll be doing:

  • Lead small projects or manage work packages within larger projects, ensuring successful delivery
  • Proactively identify, assess, and manage risks throughout the full project lifecycle to ensure customer and user needs are met while delivering financial and other key benefits
  • Apply project management methodologies and tools, whether predictive (plan-driven) or adaptive (iterative/agile), to deliver outcomes effectively
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to agree on project approaches, prepare realistic plans, and track activities against schedules while maintaining stakeholder engagement
  • Prepare detailed reporting dashboards and packs, provide accurate data, and generate insights to facilitate effective decision-making—both ad hoc and for routine governance meetings
  • Consolidate expertise from various sources, including third-party specialists, to deliver cohesive advice that supports organisational objectives
  • Support and promote the development and sharing of specialist knowledge within the organisation

Your skills and experiences:

Essential

  • In-depth knowledge of project management policies, processes, procedures, and systems, with proven professional experience in managing projects
  • Proficient in applying project management tools, techniques, and best practices
  • Skilled at influencing internal stakeholders to drive business success
  • Exceptional communication skills – oral, written, and presentation. Able to articulate complex ideas to diverse audiences in both formal and informal settings

Desirable

  • Project management qualification, such as APM
  • Experience in IM&T projects

The Information Management and Technology Team:

This exciting role is part of the Information Management and Technology function, reporting directly to the Data Transformation Programme Manager. You will play a pivotal role in delivering key projects within the dynamic data transformation portfolio. As the key driver of project delivery, you’ll lead meetings, balancing time, cost, and quality demands across various stakeholders to ensure efficient and effective project outcomes. You’ll anticipate and mitigate risks proactively, consolidating project status, key milestones, risks, and spend data. This is a fantastic opportunity to bring your strategic thinking and innovative ideas to the table, while working closely with senior stakeholders across BAE, a global leader in defence and aerospace.
