Lead Product Manager (Data)

We're looking for a Lead Product Manager with a strong background in data, AI and ML to help define, deliver, and evolve ITV's commercial data products. You'll play a pivotal role in shaping our digital strategy, developing innovative data-led solutions, and ensuring our platforms are scalable, sustainable, and aligned with business priorities.

This is an exciting opportunity to be an integral part of ITV's Commercial Technology and Change organisation. You'll be a member of the Product team, working with cross-functional teams at the forefront of defining and delivering ITV's Commercial Technology products and supporting our ambition to support our Linear and VOD inventory workflows, systems and insights.

You'll have a significant influence on ITV's success in this area with strong backing and support from ITV leadership across Commercial Technology.

Responsibilities:
Product Direction & Strategy

  • Input into the Commercial digital strategy applicable to AI, ML & Data focussed products and propositions, particularly around media supply forecasting & optimisation, aligning with stakeholders as needed.
  • Ensure alignment with wider ITV AI, ML & Data strategy including articulating & promoting the strategy and a data driven culture.

Product Development (Data)

  • Lead ideation and research initiatives around AI, ML & Data focused roadmap initiatives, particularly around media supply forecasting & optimisation.
  • Contribute new data proposition ideas, driven by a knowledge of the ITV business and the wider data market, in particular with an advertising focus.
  • Direct the shaping of key AI, ML & Data focussed initiatives across a broad range of dimensions of scope, including product, technology and business operations, ensuring the data products / capabilities are feasible and sustainable.
  • Evaluate approaches and solutions with creativity and judgement to develop data products / capabilities that are optimal fit for the outcome needed, taking into account factors including but not limited to modelling techniques and deployment approaches, data architecture, data governance, data landscape, data privacy.
  • Collaborate on the development of an outcome based roadmap that is pragmatic, innovative and business aligned, including with other teams across CT&C to identify dependencies and collectively agree roadmaps for optimum business outcomes.
  • Support the delivery planning of key AI, ML & data initiatives, working closely with other team disciplines to produce credible and realistic estimates and plans.

Product Delivery (Data)

  • Support the definition of the data product / capability requirements and specifications, partnering closely and fostering collaborative innovation with data engineers, data scientists, product design, QA, software engineers, suppliers and business teams where necessary to refine, clarify & prioritise.
  • Support agile development, provide clarification during delivery, and contribute to acceptance and testing processes, ensuring data quality and compliance.

Operate & Run (Data)

  • Provide guidance, training and expertise to the transition of the product developments into smooth operational running, including with business team
  • Support ongoing product queries, track adoption, and identify opportunities for iteration.
  • Continuously monitor product performance, defining improvements and supporting a culture of innovation.

Skills you'll need (minimum criteria)

  • Strong experience of working on data- & ML-focused products, with Product responsibilities.
  • Ability to explain complex concepts in a clear and simple manner, particularly around AI, ML & data focused concepts.
  • Data querying skills required (SQL or equivalent), with additional coding knowledge if possible (e.g. Python)
  • Strong understanding of big data processing frameworks (e.g. pyspark), analytics and data visualisation tools, data experimentation techniques, ML & data science methodologies, decentralised and medallion data architectures
  • Demonstrable experience developing hypotheses, designing and executing experiments, and evaluating and communicating results
  • Awareness of operating data products within a data governance framework, with data privacy principles, and ensuring cyber security and data quality.
  • Experience of working in cross-functional product teams and the delivery of scalable, robust data products / capabilities.

Other things we're looking for (key criteria)

  • Experience of data-driven & ML products within the digital advertising / media ecosystem (beneficial)
  • Knowledge of the UK broadcast industry, or broadcast / OTT advertising market, or TV / Streaming (beneficial)
  • Experience working with cloud platforms (beneficial)
  • Well reasoned approach to communicating product approaches with stakeholders.
  • Experience of working in fast-moving, learning-based and agile environments.
  • Keen but pragmatic problem solver who is able to demonstrate justifiable logic and curiosity and open-mindedness in data-led innovation
