Lead People Partner

Role Description

Join our People and Culture Team as a Lead People Partner on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

In this role you will work closely with People Partners to execute the people strategy, support strategic projects and create tailored solutions to address business needs.

You will assist the People Director with large-scale change and provide comprehensive HR services to managers and employees in your business areas, collaborating with our Centres of Excellence and Shared Services

This is a hybrid role based in one of the following offices: Bournemouth, Birmingham, Bristol, Guildford, London, or Manchester, with the expectation to be on-site two days per week.

About You

In this role you will be:

  • Delivering the people strategy for your business group in alignment with organisational objectives.
  • Designing and executing strategic workforce and talent plans based on business needs and market trends.
  • Coaching leaders and managers on effective talent development, succession, and career planning.
  • Leading key recruitment initiatives and executing talent acquisition strategies to build future capabilities.
  • Collaborating with CoEs (e.g., Reward, L&D) on annual cycles and strategic initiatives to drive performance.
  • Embedding organisational culture and values through strong stakeholder partnerships.
  • Driving change and innovation through external insight, internal influence, and transformation leadership.
  • Owning enterprise-level HR projects that align with the organisation's people goals and strategies.
  • Enhancing HR service delivery by coaching People Partners and refining services and processes.
  • Monitoring and supporting organisational health and business performance through strategic people initiatives.

Essential Skills

To excel in this role, you will need:

  • Proven generalist HR experience, with expertise in at least one technical specialism.
  • A track record of partnering with senior and executive-level stakeholders to deliver strategic people outcomes.
  • Experience working in complex, matrixed environments, navigating multiple stakeholder priorities.
  • Knowledge of organisational development and change management, with experience driving improvement initiatives.
  • A strategic mindset, with the ability to plan and deliver against mid-to-long-term people requirements.
  • Strong understanding of employment legislation and awareness of external best practice.
  • Hands-on experience implementing people strategies and operating models that align with business goals.
  • Data literacy, with the ability to analyse HR metrics and use insights to drive performance.
  • Excellent leadership, relationship-building, and influencing skills, with the ability to challenge and support.
