Salary: £63,000 - £94,400 depending on skills and experience + car / allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

What is the Role?

This Lead Project Manager role sits within the SSEN Transmission (SSENT) Offshore Development team and is required to lead the development o f a large HVDC offshore link or AC island projects in the north of Scotland. As a result offuture growth, this is one of a number of complex and challenging projects SSEN Transmission is to develop and deliver by 2030.

The key duties & responsibilities will include:

- Reporting to the Offshore Development Portfolio Manager you will be responsible for the successful development of a large capital project. You will oversee a team to assess project feasibility by evaluating initial design concepts and driving the refinement of a preferred solution following SSE Large Capital Projects processes. You will ensure the project technology choices, site selection, onshore and offshore cable route design are optimal to attain successful regulatory consent and demonstrate predicable deliverability.

- Guide and support project team including senior project managers, project managers and other cross-functional multiple-discipline teams in various locations across the development and refinement project phases. You will work closely with the Transmission Offshore Management team to ensure projects are developed and reported in line with project governance and regulatory requirements.

- Champion safety and wellbeing driving compliance to business safety management system requirements, construction design management (CDM), continuous improvement and applying best practice. You will demonstrate visible and approachable safety leadership ensuring your actions and behaviours are in accordance with the SSE Safety Culture and core leadership values.

- As a strong communicator, you will build and maintain productive and enduring relationships with colleagues, internal/external stakeholders and local communities to build support for the sustainable development and delivery of the projects that you are responsible for.

- You will be expected to identify business and process improvements and as required support colleagues and the business to develop and implement these. You will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with all legal, regulatory and internal policies, processes and governance.

What do I need?

To be considered for the position of Lead Project Manager we are looking for an experienced leader with demonstrable experience in managing technically complex large capital projects and large multi-functional teams, ideally with specific knowledge of electricity networks, offshore projects or other large infrastructure projects.

- Experience in directing a multi-discipline project team to success through accurate and transparent reporting and applying rigorous project governance.

- Experience across the project lifecycle managing a wide range of consenting, commercial, engineering and construction activities. Direct experience in developing or delivering HVDC or transmission infrastructure projects would be advantageous.

- Excellent communication skills both written and verbally and experience of communicating with both internal and external stakeholders at all levels.

- Experience working with company standards, policies, procedures, the NEC3 suite of contracts and construction health and safety legislation including CDM 2015.
