In the role of Lead Commissioning Manager, we'll count on you to:

We are seeking an experienced Lead Commissioning Manager to oversee the commissioning of electrical and/or mechanical systems for a major commercial tower project in London. You will be responsible for ensuring all building services are tested, commissioned, and handed over in compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

      • Commissioning Strategy & Planning: Develop and implement commissioning plans for electrical and/or mechanical systems, ensuring alignment with project timelines.
      • Testing & Quality Assurance: Oversee the testing, inspection, and verification of building services to ensure they meet design and performance criteria.
      • Compliance & Standards: Ensure all commissioning activities comply with UK regulations, health and safety requirements, and industry best practices.
      • Stakeholder Coordination: Work closely with project managers, contractors, design engineers, and facility teams to ensure seamless integration of building systems.
      • Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution: Identify and resolve technical issues during commissioning to ensure optimal system performance.
      • Documentation & Handover: Maintain detailed commissioning records and oversee the smooth transition of systems to the operations team.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in commissioning electrical and/or mechanical building systems for large-scale commercial projects.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, power distribution, BMS, fire protection, and related systems.
  • Excellent understanding of UK building regulations and industry standards.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and drive commissioning activities on time and within budget.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • LEED accreditation

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Must be willing to travel to site-based locations as reasonably based on HDR needs
  • Must be an experienced engineer, either a licensed PE or a field technician with excellent understanding of MEP systems, HVAC controls, the T&B process, etc
  • Must have good computer skills and effective typing skills
  • Understanding of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Project software
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Be familiar with the organization of design documents, the preparation of the multidiscipline designs, and the delivery of the design & construction services
  • Strong knowledge of construction practices, systems engineering, operations fundamentals, contracting, and general business operations
  • Understanding of project accounting and financial management tools
  • Ability to prioritize and organize work; ability to work on multiple tasks concurrently
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
