Base Location: Flexible | We're proud to offer a Flexible First approach to work, and this role is no exception. We will, however need your base 'home' location to be one of our SSEN offices or depots inPerth, Aberdeen, Inverness, or Glasgow

Salary: £46,626 - £54,154depending on skills and experience + car /car allowance + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

Our Engineering Design & Consents Team within Large Capital Delivery (LCD) manages and delivers a diverse portfolio of Capex as well as Customer connections work, developing designs and consenting them through the design phase towards installation by our Contractors. We find practical solutions to the challenges of creating and maintaining a net zero electricity network by being a key stakeholder and engaging with other internal and external stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Our Land Consents Managers are a pivotal resource for ensuring successful delivery. In this role you'll be responsible for securing, maintaining and managing strategic land and property rights for underground cables, overhead lines and ground mounted plant on both public and privately-owned land.

- Devising land consents strategies to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and sustainably, managing asset risk in line with our network security obligations and requirements.

- Managing the preparation, negotiation and successful acquisition of wayleaves, servitudes, land purchases, lease agreements and access permissions across a portfolio of Large Capital Delivery projects.

- Assessment, negotiation and successful settlement of related agreements including (amongst others) compensation claims throughout project lifecycle.

- Engaging with internal and external stakeholders to develop and foster positive working relationships.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, you will ideally have:

- Knowledge of relevant consents, and experience in securing both voluntary and statutory consents for capital projects. Knowledge of associated environmental legislation is also desirable.

- Excellent negotiation and influencing skills

- Experience working within a Rural or Land Management setting, or utilising and working with Land Agents as a Contractor.

- Experience of working with and getting agreement from key stakeholders, such as landowners, tenants, and their agents, local authorities and national agencies.

- A full, current driving licence.
